Hi, I'm a frequent lurker and first-time poster at Auopia. I just got some gorgeous polished aluminum wheels for myself at Xmas. I read here about Zoopseal, which claims to protect the wheels against oxidation for up to two years.
Despite the cost, I felt it might be worth the effort to lessen the frequecy with which I'd have to wax the wheels--during warm weather, I wash my car every 7-10 days, so cleaning the wheels is no problem, but REALLY waxing them (e.g. taking them off the car to do a perfect job) monthly I simply don't have time for. I have purchased and installed it and will probably review it in a few months, if it holds up. I have seen really no reviews on autopia about it, just a few posts mostly by the same person.
In any case, my question is this: For those of you who've actually used Zoopseal, have you required other wheel care than regular cleaning? Or is it overkill and wrong in the same way that applying wax to your car's paint after Zaino doesn't make sense? (Sorry, Zaino fan here.)
By the way, I live in an area where road salt is used during the winter, so the wheels (even though they are so gorgeous) are not goin on until spring. I think this is the most important thing I can do to protect them...
TIA!
