Polished rims & a safe cleaner?

I have American Racing Torgue thrust II rims which are a polished rims. I have been very apprehensive to use a whell cleaner on them. I use just soap and water and a polish with clenaer from American racing . The polsih/cleaner is a bit of a pain and time consuming.

Anyone suggest a good "SAFE" cleaner for polished rims that wont pit, streak or dull my polished rims? I recently read the bootle for Meguires Hot Rims and it claims to be safe for polished wheels, anyone use this product?

If you want a mild wheel cleaner that works well, I recommend P21S. Mothers also makes a clearcoat wheel cleaner (in a yellow bottle) that's nice.

But frankly, if soap and water are working for you, then I'd stick to that. It's plenty safe. Besides, elbow grease will never damage your wheels ;)

I have had numerous sets of polished ( not clear coated wheels) and they are a PITA but I found Never-Dull worked great and left the better shine over Mothers Billet polish. Never Dull is a cottom waste treaed with something that disolves oxidization and restores the shine on polished wheels

Is there any spray's that will work instead of actually polishing the wheels. Spray on hose off product for non clear coated wheels??

I personally wouldn't recommend Eagle one A2Z on non-clearcoated polished aluminum wheels. I used to swear by this stuff, but I found that it was staining and dulling my wheels thus making polishing take twice as long. (I still use it on my tires though, the best hands down) After I quit using it on my wheels, they were much easier to polish. Mothers billet works excellent on them, it produces the best shine so far. I found Never-Dull, to actually "dull" the shine mothers achieved and it seems to darken the metal from a bright finish to a darker greyish color. Use soap and water or dilluted Simple Green to avoid staining for cleaning and Mother's billet for a near bright chrome finish. This is the best combo I've found to work through my trial and error.

*ADDITION* Just thought I would add that Never Dull achieves it's best results in a short amount of time, however Mother's Billet takes patience and "clean" towels to acheive the best results. Once you get the max out of Mother's, you'll see other polishes take away from it.
