Polished Bliss vs small industrial unit!

beautiful shop, and an amazing amount of product. did you stay on budget?

Nearly! Ran a little over due mainly to going overboard with the security, but seeing as some very expensive cars are likely to be stored overnight sometimes, it made sense. :)

I'm curious as to why you have all that Werkstatt product, why bring that over from the US when you can get the Carlack in Scotland (I presume)?

For all those curious about the amount of product we hold; we also run a busy online store selling all of the products we use, hence the large stockholding. In response to the above question, I love the Werkstatt range; I feel it's more complete, beautifully packaged and Jeff is a joy to work with. Jeffs vs Carlack vs Klasse? For me, Werkstatt every time. :)

Smashing set up, loving it.

Where about are you guys based? I am in Sunny Glasgow...

Loving the shot of all the products lined up on the shelves, and the mini fridge with

the zymol inside...:D

Good luck with the venture...

Cheers, we are based just outside Aberdeen. Funnily enough we are having an open day on June 30th, if you fancy a drive up you're very welcome! :D

I find that amazing...our understanding here (at Autopia) was that Jeff was the US distribution "instrument" for the Carlack nano products, so I for one find it fascinating that he has market penetration back into Carlack's market. Kudos are apparently in order for Jeff and again congrats to you on your shop, your thriving business, and your environmental committment!

I also find it kind of interesting that you apparently move so much Poorboy's product as well, marketing is funny, how the beers and cars etc. we find mundane and pedestrian here are exotic across the pond and vice versa.

Do you actually use that much quantity of products you have stocked? Or are you a stocking distributor over there?

congrats to you.

i am well impressed with your product range- very diverse.

i also admire your commitment to the environment. i wish i could give you some business to show my appreciation!

any more pics??

We move a lot of Menzerna and Blackfire too. I think the key to this, and our rapid growth in general over the last 18 months, has been the fact that we use the produts we stock in a professional capacity; if it ain't good, then we don't use it! And because we post a lot of the cars we do, customers can see in advance what we can achieve with the products, and this counts for a lot in terms of trust and the results vs expectations equation. None of our competitors in the UK combine sales and professional detailing in the same way, so I think this gives us a valuable edge in the marketplace. As you say though, it's always slightly surprising how tastes vary in time and space. :)

Answered above in detail in other responses, but yes, we sell as well as detail. :)

Anything in particular you'd like to see? I think I've shown most things (it is a small unit after all!), but if anyone has specific things they'd like to see/discuss then fire away and I'll see if I have relevant images. :)

One of the very best suppliers in the UK, a fair proportion of my income heads straight to Polished Bliss. If you want the good stuff it's the place to shop, I can't recommed them highly enough.

just wondering if you had any pictures of cars occupying your space, mid-detail:D

also, what is that foam gun setup you are running? that foam looks amazing

Just a few I think, as we've only been in a couple of weeks; bear with me, I'll have a look in the image archive and post here if I find some. The foam setup is as follows: Karcher pressure washer with an Auto-Brite foam lance attached, using Megs Safe-Degreaser as the APC. However, product choice is pretty much irrelevant, as whatever you put through this lance produces similar foam, i.e. P21S TAW, Megs APC, any shampoo, etc. This foam is so thick it's like shaving foam, and the dwell time is really long. :xyxthumbs

Congrats Richard, on a very very nice setup! Thanks for taking the time to post.

Does your business have a website?

I noticed you have Menzerna PO85RD 3.02 and PO106FA. Do you ship to the USA?

Mike

Hi Mike, I'm afraid not, as our insurers won't allow us to ship to the USA or Canada due to the increased risk of product liability claims. However, if you have friends or relatives in the UK then you can get round it this way, using them to make the initial purchase and then post it on. However, be aware that shipping costs from the UK to the USA are very high, even for just a few kg. Nothing's ever easy!
