Polish/Wax in the Sun?

OK...I know the label and marketing says it's alright to use some PB stuff in the sun, but has anyone done it with good results?

I have a one-car car port, but it's presently occupied by my engine-less, trans-less, brake-less race car. It's just too much of a hassle to push the thing back and forth. In addition, the car port is kind of small.

I do have a 10x20 tent I could put up, but that only has a top cover, and the sun would still get to my truck while I work.

Real-world experiences please. Mahalo!
 
I've used some in the sun as a test... Results were just OK... Although it say that it can be used in the sun, you're better off in the shade for better results! It dries too quickly...

I've used it in the sun but find that you have to do smaller areas like quarter panels so that you can take it off a bit quicker....I really don't think that you get the same results that you do in the shade...but for those that have no other choices it dose work
 
I've used it when it was about 88* and windy. I had to work w/a smaller section at a time but it still worked. It does leave some streaking though I had to work at buffing more than usual. I had put SSR1 and EX-P the day before (in the shade) and the following day I was at my in-law's house and decided to apply some Natty's Blue but they had no shade.
 
Just a thought that doesn't have anything to do with PB products, but does follow the thread title.
If you are polishing/waxing by hand, go to a shady area to work.
At different times, I have waxed in a parking ramp while my wife was shopping, waxed in shaded park while waiting for my granddaughter to get out of a school function. I have even gone to a shady spot in a park to wax just because it was a nice place to work.

I always detail my car in the sun with PB's. I don't have any other choice. Just don't let the product sit on the car to long.

I think you've read some sound advice by others. In the sun you usually do smaller sections but results should be equal. Preferably some people would rather be in the shade. Not me! I prefer to work in the sun and be able to see every angle of the finish the sun will show me. I would avoid doing it in extreme heat, the kind where you can't even touch the finish without burning your hands, but if you are in business sometimes there is no choice. Check out some of the threads and post from our Detailing days the last couple years..both were on the hotest days in the summer and a lot of the work was done in 90* + heat. :)
 
i use a lot of pb products, and i have used them in the shade and in the sun. seems to be equal on the final results, but i too noticed that u have to move much faster in the sun.. but i dont use on a hot surface.
