Polish vs Glazes?

What is the main difference in these. I am getting ready to order some pwc and was thinking about the RMG. I live the VM I have and have heard good things about the RGM. I also have a black car. But is a glaze a waste of money? Could you just from cleaner to glaze to LSP? I understand that a polish can remove some defects from the paint will a glaze? And lastly does anyone here perfer one over the other? Thanks
 
I have yet to find a AIO product like P-w-C that is any better for removing minor swirls and bring back luster......Most all the glazes that I have seen do not remove swirls. Megs has a machine glaze that claims to remove swrils but I have not used it.....I'd go straight to the sealant or paste wax after
 
Well, some glaze has filer, which I dont want.
Polisher, can remove light swirls/marring. Whereas most of glaze dont(I dont think RMG has either)

When I do cars I start with SWR if they need it most al do...then to P-w-C as the next step.....Depending on what I have talked with the customer I use a sealant, then top with paste wax......Most of the times its straight to wax for the cars that I do.
 
Polishes will clean and bring lustre to your paint and even some light swirl removal.
A glaze is ment to give your paint that wet look, that is generally done with oils and fillers, Meg's #7(show car glaze) is a prime example.

A glaze may give you bonding issues if you are planning to top with a sealant rather than with a carnuaba.

Let take my car for example. I have swirls I would want to do ssr 2.5 then a PWC or VM and then RMW and then nattys blue or s100?
 
polishes are products used to clean paint and at time may have abrasives in it used to level out swirls. depending on the harshness of the polish means u might have to follow it with a lighter polish that would remove the haze/micromarr left by the harsh polish.

glazes are products meant to be used on a new/just polished/clean surface. its intended use is basically for looks only and tend to have qualitys that hide swirls/scratches.
