Polish stains.

I was polishing a black Honda Accord with 1Z PP and PC yesterday when I noticed the polish was leaving stains where I blotted it on with the PC. Temp was about 48 with the sun shining. The surface of the car was warm but not hot. They eventually polished out after a couple applications. You think is the result of the sun shining on the black paint or is this a trait of 1Z polishes? Any thoughts??
 
I haven't had that happen with 1z polishes, but then I don't blot them onto the panels either. I *have* had it happen with other polishes when I did that, presumably from chemical cleaners in them. I quit blotting the product onto the surface (well, for the most part) after that. Now I just wipe the PC across the area I'm going to work and immediately get polishing.
 
A surface should be cool to the touch, otherwise it can lead to, what manufacturers call, 'unpredictable' results. :)
