Now I'm really confused . . . in general, I had the impression that safe polishing speeds are in the 1000 - 1800 range (depending on pad and polish choice). Heck, I think my Makita only goes as high as 3000.Murat said:Not really... If you don't feel confident enough, you may go lower...

What about sling? How fast does the polish break down? What products have you used? How long are you buffing a particular area? Have you measured using a guage before and after?
