Polish, glaze - what is the difference?

I just got my PC and have used FCRC with CMA Yellow (Cutting) Pad to clean the paint. There was a lot of water spots, scratches, and dealer installed swirls that needed to be removed. After the RC what product is next? I have SMR with a CMA White (Polishing) Pad, would that be it? And after that what is the next product after that. I am using Zaino.

Thanks :D

There are no specific steps or formulas to determine what comes next. After each step you'll need to re-evaluate the paint condition and decide from there what to do. Any suggestion we make is a total guess on our part because we can't see your paint.

If you are happy with the paint condition after the FCRC and feel it cannot be improved on, go right to Z. If there are swirls or hazing or some condition where you think it can be improved, then try one of your other products. I suggest trying them on a small area to determine performance. That way you'll know what product does what without detailing the entire car and possibly waste a lot of time and effort.

Experiment with products and techniques to get the results you want.

IF you need it I think people like to suggest something like FI-II since you're going the Zaino route. I think (but not sure) that SMR will be just fine but you'll have to do a Dawn wash. You don't want to bother with using a non-cutting pure glaze (IHG, #7, etc etc) because it doesn't "jive" with Zaino application methods.

I'm a Menzerna FP or 3M PIII MG type myself. Best to read the contents of the bottle if possible B4 you use it. Good example, 3M PIII Finish Glzae has carnuba in it.

3M SMR does work, but fills. 3M PIII MG REMOVES swirls, no filling. Same for Menzerna. 3M is easy to get since you already have some. Check their website as for it's level of abrasiveness and where it fits into your work.
