Polish / Glaze Question

just before i place my order for some #7 show car glaze, anyone got any other suggestions ?



ease of use isnt a problem, i will be doing it by hand, but ill be topping with a sealant, and possibly a carnauba wax aswell, so it will be well protected



what im basically looking for, is a product to give me the wettest shine possible, im pretty certain im goin for the right one here with #7, but im open to suggestions......



ive heard vanilla moose wax glaze is quite good on dark cars, i own a metallic black car, the bodywork isnt perfect but ill be using a paint cleaner and possibly clay aswell before i apply the polish/glaze



oh an i cant get Klasse AIO here in the UK :mad:



(im also TOTALLY confused with the Clearkote product line, it says moose wax is non abrasive, yet it lists it as a cleaner/wax ???...claims to remove oxidisation etc etc)
 
Show Car Glaze is pretty much that, a short term glaze that gives your car a boosted oily and deep look. Before you glaze you will need to polish out any marring/swirls/etc. A cleaner will help remove oxidation and such but you're going to need to use something with some abrasives in it. Moosewax is a nice onestep cleaner-wax which means it won't be abbrasive but has cleaning capabilities in the wax.
 
One Grand glaze and wax will give a very wet looking paint. Ultimately it is better to remove any damage instead of hiding it.
 
The paint cleaner is a good idea but if you need to take out swirls and such you won't be able to do so with it.
 
ah right, what if i go over the sealant with NXT, thats very good with swirls in my experience, the only problem might be it affecting the sealant



are you sure the paint cleaner wont get rid of swirls ?.......i would of thought it would ?
 
A paint cleaner will take care of things like oxidation. But if you have swirls for instance you need an abbrasive to work on it.
 
It does that chemically. I don't want to come across rude but it seems like you are dead set on using only the paint cleaner, which is fine. Always use the least potent method for the job. However, you will more likely than not need something stronger to get the job done. If you're doing it by hand or PC you don't have to fear about damaging the car (except for some extreme circumstance). Anyways, good luck and take pictures.

would you suggest something else in place of the paint cleaner, or ideally should i use something after it, like swirl remover ?
 
ive read the product info on both swirl remover, and medallion paint cleaner, and i think the medallion paint cleaner would be best for my needs



"If your car's finish is in good condition ( one or two years old) choose No. 9 Swirl Remover and follow with your favorite wax. If your car is older with duller paint or deeper swirls use Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner first, follow with No. 9 Swirl Remover and then finish with your favorite wax. "



bit of a pain in the arse, having to use both !



my paintwork isnt really bad, but under direct sunlight it does have quite a few swirls........



if i go with what ive been reading, then i will be using a LOT of products, i need to cut down on some really, because at the moment it looks like i should use the following



Medallion Paint Cleaner

#9 2.0 Swirl Remover

#7 Show Car Glaze - Really want to use this, just to try it, may change to #81 Hand Polish at a later date

EX-P Sealant

Wax - still undecided



do you think maybe i should replace the paint cleaner, #9, AND #7 simply by using #81
 
nah, ive decided im stickin with medallion paint cleaner, and the #7 to follow it, i know it doesnt last long (the #7) but im gonna top it off with poorboys EX-P in an attempt to keep that really wet look for longer



if i dont get the results im after, then ill let you know and you can give me a big 'told you so'....hehe
 
Brun if you dont get the results you want after using the medallion, just go with something a lillte more abrasive till you get what you want.



I had to go to a rubbing compund (actually wet sanding) on one of my cars till I got what I was happy with..



What ever you do good luck and take pictures :d
