Shane24 said:Ok this was all just one coat of polish that you applied and took off gradually or what? i am just used to applying it and taking it right off. .
Shane24 said:I dont have a real good buffer just one of those average joes ones and im looking into getting one but not off the internet. Do you know where, in like average stores i can get a decent one.
Shane24 said:I was quite impressed with the finish on the vehicle you did but i just didnt quite follow how u went about it. call me stupid if ya like! What kind of applicator pad did you use to apply and take it off with? sorry for so many Q's. Any info is greatly appreciated, thankyou

Thanks,
Mark
AZ Ferrari Man said:How much polish did you use and how did you apply, ie: directly to panel or to pad? Also any dusting or gumming? And how often did you need to clean your pad?
Thanks!
Andrew
I don't wet the pads. Whenever I wet the pads it makes it very difficult to remove after working it in.AZ Ferrari Man said:Do you wet the pad with DS, or water prior to application. Also what are the breakdown differences between the FP II and IP? Both around 3-5mins a panel?
The only problem with residue was if I wet the pad or the pad is caked with polish, other then that it wipes right off.How were residues to buff off? Did you have to use DS to remove any? And what are the problems with removing residues with DS or 50/50, I read on someones website that the 50/50 spray can dull optical enhancers in the polish.
Also any help with IP would be great, I think I might go LC white with the FP II and an Orange or white LC with IP, what do you think? Your work is just astonishing.
P.S. why do you slow the speed when the polish has broken down? You break it down on 4.5-6 and then slow to what, once it has broken down?
Thanks, I appreciate it.cwcad said:Have been reading this thread form it's inception. Very interesting and informative.
BLKYUKON....I cannot believe the work and attention to detail that you have put into your page as far as the polishing stages are concerned. Having attempted to get the job done on my own vehicles, I can see the process using your pictures and my minds eye to get a much better understanding of what is supposed to be done.
Thank You for your efforts!!!
This thread was already a good thread but your work has made it better!!! :beer_smil :band:
AZ Ferrari Man said:Hey BLKYukon, I checked out your detail page with the very helpful PO-85rd write up, I was curious as to how the residues were to buff off and did you do so with an MF and DS?
Time...maybe a few minute, I usually don't go by time because speed, amount of product, temp, humidity, etc. can play a part on how long it will take ...I look at more how the polish is breaking down.AZ Ferrari Man said:Also how long did you feel you need to workin the polish (3-5 mins?) any help would be great! P.S. how often did you clean your pad?
