Po85rd

Seriously? I know Dwayne said he had it for a while. I still hope I can snag a bottle!

It could just be that supply link to Menzerna USA/Menzerna Germany has gone down. I hope Menzerna will be open to vendors picking it up again.

nevermind, should of read more. From CMA website

Menzerna USA announced they will no longer import the PO85RD polish as PO106FF has been selected by automakers as the polish to use on ceramic particle and scratch-resistant clear coats.

I think Pakshak may still have some P085 in stock. I was checking it out on their website before and it says discontinued, but does not say out of stock. I was thinking of getting some myself, but I just got IP and FPII. So, I think I should keep my wallet in my pocket for now.

With the exchange rate being good for you, get it from AG group in australia
They are the aussie distributors and have heaps of it.

I didn't see any mention of Menzerna there at all just MFs, P21S, Lexol, Klasse , Clay Magic, and Stoner  I suppose, if necessary, folks might be able to contact Menzerna, have to buy a case, and do a group buy.

I called Proper this morning -I believe they are the main distribution hub for the sites that carry Menzerna.

Menzerna has DISCONTINUED P085RD -No more shipments will be coming in. 106FF will remain in the line up.

I'm locking up my now even more precious supply like fine crystal or china in the dining room cabinet :D

OK, maybe they might have a new, even better addition to acompany it coming up.

I asked that question too Bill, and the contact at proper said there weren't any plans for a replacement. I wish they would have scrapped 106FF instead.

I read this last night and bolted to the basement to see how much I have left!

I still have about 20 oz of it left.

Looks like I will have to get my German interpreter to call headquarters now :).

jgv: If it comes down to it, that would be amazing.

I have never used either polish. I'm very happy with FP II so I never felt the need to pay the premium they charge for the ceramiclear polishes. From what I under stand PO85RD and PO106FF are very close in final finish appearance but PO106FF has slightly more cut. It seems that it would be redundant to own both and that you will get the same final results with PO106FF as you would with PO85RD.

Maybe there is nothing to fear for afterall... I remember reading this below from a detailing newsletter from classic motoring last month - the new products may be similar or better than PO85RD. I have only tried FPII though.

"Late Breaking News
Classic Motoring Accessories, Tampa, Florida announced a joint venture with Menzerna Gmbh, Germany, to bring Menzerna's state-of-the-art, scratch resistant clear coat polishing technology into the BLACKFIRE product line. Menzerna, a world leader in polishing the new, nano, ceramic clear coats being used by various German automakers will be formulating a number of dual-technology compounds and polishes which will be sold in the US under the BLACKFIRE label. These products can be used to polish the German, ceramic, clear coats and the new, scratch resistant clear coats being developed by BASF and DuPont for domestic automakers. These will be the most advanced polishes ever released to the do-it-yourself, enthusiast market.

These new products will be available Spring 2006 from Classic Motoring Accessories, www.properautocare.com"

Menzerna and CMA have been in kahoots since FMJ, mg031. CMA actually manufactured FMJ, Acrylic Spritz, Wheel Cleaner, and all of their new, non polish items.

Thanks for the info though. I didn't know it was going that deep.

I've kinda figured that since i haven't seen the non polish products availabe outside the us or at least that i know of.

With all the hype about PO85RD, is it that much better as a final polish vs. FPII ? That always seemed a great finishing polish.

thanks
