0000 steel wool with any glass cleaner on the outside. Viper glass MF sprayed with Turtle Wax glass cleaner then wipe down windows inside and out. Polish outside windows with AIO.

Nothing beats it.

1. Wash & clay exterior glass (clay only as needed)

2. Damp MF

3. Dry MF

4. AG Fast Glass inside

5. QS or AG Glass polish exterior

I use a foaming glass cleaner with #0000 steel wool if ther is some spotting, other wise I use EO 20/20. Auto Zone had 20/20 on sale for 2 for $6 which is a decent deal this weekend. You can get a big bag of the #0000 at Wal-Mart for a couple bucks in the paint section.

~One man’s opinion, observation~

Exposure to bugs, road oil and tar, and catalytic converter emissions makes automotive glass cleaning a challenge. I discourage the use of ammonia-based glass cleaners on your car; ammonia is harmful to many car surfaces including vinyl, rubber, and leather. As a substitute I prefer (Stoner’s Invisible Glass) or a citric acid, alcohol, or mechanical cleaner.

Put your hand in a plastic sandwich bag and lightly run your fingertips over the windshield's surface. Chances are, it will have a rough, gritty feel. Glass cleaners will not remove this grit, the method I use:

Outside glass –

1. Apply clay (Magic Clay) and lubricant solution (Woolite / Water 5:1) onto the glass surface (Do not apply to plastic as dulling may occur.)

2. Wash off any residue from glass and dry with a damp waffle weave towel

3. For ‘water spots’ use a water/distilled white vinegar solution, 5:1 (adjust ratio as required)

4. Apply a quarter size amount of Autoglym Car Glass Polish to a dry 100% cotton or Microfiber cloth

5. Apply to half of the windshield, polishing first in an up and down motion then in a left-to-right motion and then repeat on the other side.

6. Go over the glass several times in each direction. (Glass will polish virtually residue free.)

7. Wipe off any residue, and polish with a clean dry 100% cotton Microfiber cloth.

8. If any ‘water spots’ remain apply Distilled White Vinegar to a 100% cotton micro fibre towel, using a medium pressure rub glass until they are removed.

9. Inspect glass for clarity and smoothness. Repeat if necessary.

10. Apply 303 Wiper Treatment to the wiper blades to clean, restore suppleness, eliminate wiper noise or ‘skipping’ and to avoid glass smearing. .

Inside glass –

Wipe glass with a damp waffle weave towel; apply Stoners Invisible Glass to 100% cotton Microfiber cloth and rub glass surface with a light to medium pressure (it will dry streak-free / lint-free and shining)

Plastic window –

Use same as ‘Inside glass’ above but use Plexus1Plastic Cleaner, Protectant and Polish. Safe for all types of clear and coloured plastics, Perspex, Lucite, Mylar (window tinting) and clear acrylics.

Rear window –

I use a Glass Master (it has two swivel paddle heads that fit on to a handle and comes with three bonnets, terry, and Microfiber and bug scrubber. This allows access to sloped rear window glass) to apply the Stoners Invisible Glass with a light to medium pressure (it will dry streak-free / lint-free and shining)

These glass-cleaning methods should results in crystal clear, safer road vision and long lasting protection

As with all detailing tasks applied to an automotive surface, everything in a straight-line motion, avoid circular movements that could contribute to swirl marks.

~Hope this helps~

After washing is complete

Do the outside first, then the inside with Omikron Klearview Blue Tint safe ammonia free window cleaner

A lint free cloth, usually microfiber and sometimes terry towel

Sometimes the inside windows get fogged up or clogged with some mystery smudgey goo so i get out the trusty CITRA FORCE.

Using a different cloth i apply to the glass with a side to side motion, starting with the left edges and going all the way around the edges. Then 4 side to side strokes from top to bottom.

The citra force removes almost anything from windows without any damage. I follow that up with the omikron but occasionally if the glass is still not quite right, AUTOSOL metal polish.

Had to do this a few weeks ago and the glass turned out like new.

The 000 steel wool i haven't tryed yet

Whatever you do, don't get baby oil on glass, it's a ***** to get off, it's smears everywhere.

I use baby oil to lubricate the top door seals as nothing else seems to work and on rare occasions i have accidently spilled some on there.

Ultra Microfibre Glass Cloth ( It doesnt leave tiny fibres like the other MF glass Cloths) and water for maintanance.

Ultra MF Glass Cloth and Stoner Invisible Glass ( now its available here) for a real good clean.

Have been reading the threads on using Klasse AIO on the windows but havent tried it yet.

Forget the above post, It's outdated now

After the car is hand washed, the aquatouch ultra mf glass cloth is used, which I mist until just the right dampness is achieved and wipe over outside then inside of all windows

Glass polishing - Clay outside only with clay magic fine bar, polish inside and out of non tinted and outside only of tinted glass with AUTOSMART GLASS GLOW

Takes everything off and prep's surface for swirl removal and protection

Swirl and scratch removal - Poorboys SSR 1- 2.5

PROTECTION - Three coats of the following sealants

Klasse SG, Poorboys EX-P, Wolfgang sealant

Sometimes I top with omikron fast wax or vanilla moose wax

I'm curious to know if four star is good for glass.

Autoglym Glass Polish on a cheap dishwashing foam pad, wipe with a MF towel. The AG also works well for cleaning the wiper blades

Check to see if your window cleaner is butyl based, if it is then spraying it on the glass in the interior may spot or stain your vinyl.

Just about any non-butyl based window cleaner will work as long as you allow the window cleaner to work. I hate using terry towels because they will lint.

Cheap MF towels will also lint.

Surgical towels, I think they are called "huck" towels work well as do suede or the MF's with a stretchy feel to them......forget what they are called.

I use a 2 towel method. One towel I use to apply the cleaner and my second towel, it is actually a large microfiber hand mitt, to dry and buff the glass. Keep the cloths flat as possible when cleaning and buffing glass.

It is not unusual for me to go thru 2 window towels on one car. After a few windows, especially inside windows, always fold over to a clean side.

VM on exterior windows works very nice as does RO water.

The window is a daily battle for us Z owners. There is a constant grease smear on both windows when you roll it back up. There's a solution of course but I have decided not to do it. That's because they would have to remove the door panels and such and I just don't feel comfortable with that.

Anyway SORRY, I use Stoners and two MF towels. Spray with Stoners first on the MF, wipe, then immediately wipe behind it with the second MF.

If I'm claying that day I would also clay the glass. I use the CA blade as well so it leaves it streak free. I do however still wipe it off with Stoners. If I'm applying AIO, they get an application as well. :xyxthumbs And of course when I'm sitting in traffic I'm wiping off the smear on my glass with the MF. People are always looking at me weird when they see me doing this. :nixweiss :p

I have noticed that on all my cars. I wonder what causes it.
