I need some serious help and im hoping the answer isnt go spend 400 dollors on a new paint job

This is my original Problem, Not to bad just hard to look at

This is my new problem, the clearcoat is starting to peel off how can I stop this and or fix it till later on I get it repainted
 
Ouch. :bigscream If the cc is starting to peel off, there's nothing much you can do about it until you can have it fixed.
 
Only thing that comes to mind is to get some of the clear coat touch up spray and clear coat the area. I think that may stop the peeling or at least minimize it until you can afford a repaint.

It's a patch though - you'd only be postponing the evental repair.
 
If you're handy with spray paint or a airbrush you could touch it up temporarily, but it would take a lot of prep work and post-paint work to get it looking decent.

I've done touch ups on curb scrapes for some of my friends and you can't even tell anything was there.
 
I'd use some laquer thinner on the area that looks like you rubbed up on a white pole or something white, that will clean up that area. Do this while you are washing the car so that you can use soapy water to wash off right away.

Then I would polish that out along with the rest of the car, and live with it until you can get it repainted. I've found that once the car is really clean and shinney you will not look at it quite as much and still feel better about the car.

Believe it or not On my Birthday someone i have no clue who must of ran there car across mine, and i didnt even have the car 2 weeks. On The clear coat touch up spray do you think it would stop the peeling for about 2 month.
 
Looks like you could make a nice project out of it.

You could really get some good rotary experience. I would wetsand the area lightly, then touch it up x 2-3 with 10 mins apart from each coat. Let it dry for about an hour and re wetsand (1000, 1500,2000,2500 respectively). Next would be to compound via rotary, then polish. It's work, yeah, but it could save you.
 
I'm curious about what pad/product combo you used? It looks like you went a little too agressive.

Someone did this to our Altima, as you can see there was a similar type of paint removal as yours. I hit it with a White LC pad at 3K and some SSR1. That got rid of the paint and most of the light scratches. To this day I treat that area with TLC because I know the clear compromised.

For now I would go with the other advise of cleaning the rest of the car and maybe some touch up to this area might help too until you can get it in the shop.
