whats the basic method for polishing/waxing a car?



I've been looking everywhere and can't find any info.



For instance, do I lightly spread the polish on the car, let it haze, and use my PC to buff it out?



Or do I use muscle pushing the polish on my car, and just wipe it off with a microfiber clothe.



Or do I put the polish on the porter cable, and apply it to the car that way, and just wipe it off?



Please help me, I'm clueless.
