Please give comments or corrections on my detailing proceedure

I've been reading up and collecting detailing products for a while now (including my new Porter Cable Random Orbital with all the extra goodies), but haven't started detailing yet. I have a solid black '94 Viper (original paint). I've made a general list of my planned process to detail the car from start to finish. If you can give me any recommendations or point out errors in the process I would appreciate it! I'm still a bit unsure about how many times I should repeat polishing/sealing/waxing/etc, when/and with what product to remove residue between steps, or if I've got all of the steps in the correct order.

Paint Cleaning & Preparation

* Wash car with premium car wash & dry

* Claybar entire car

* Spray car with 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol and distilled water and dry

Swirl Removal & Glossing

* Apply swirl cutting compound, mist black or yellow foam pad with water, work at 4krpm

* Apply swirl removal glaze for dark cars, mist black foam pad with water, work at 4krpm

Polishing

* Apply premium car polish, mist white foam pad with water, work at 3krpm

* Apply polish finishing glaze, mist white foam pad with water, work at 3krpm

* Buff with white foam pad

* Remove polish dust with non-protective detailing spray or distilled water

* Repeat polishing proceedure many times

Sealing

* Apply Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze, use white foam pad, work at 3krpm

* Allow sealant to cure/harden up to 48 hours

* Dust car and clean with distilled water

* Repeat sealing proceedure again many times but no need to wait for it to cure/harden

Waxing

* Apply Pinnacle Souveran Paste, use white foam pad, work at 3krpm

* Allow wax to cure/harden up to 48 hours

* Dust car and clean with detailing spray

* Apply Pinnacle Carnuba Spray Wax, use white foam pad, work at 3krpm

* Apply detailing spray, use white foam pad, work at 3krpm

* Repeat waxing proceedure again many times but no need to wait for it to cure/harden

Finishing

* Use white foam pad, work at 3krpm but without any pressure on pad

When you are refering to the pc speeds are you correlating these to the dial numbers for example #4 for 4k opm? If so thats not quite how it works, a recent post by DavidB showed that #5 is 3k opm and #6 6k opm so in effect you would be applying Klasse sg on #5.5 (or thereabouts) on the pc which is way too fast. I would personally apply sg by hand to get a super thin layer.

I would aslo apply 3 coats of sg 24 hours apart. Also the souveran will need 24 hours between coats!

Personally I would wipe off product with a good quality m/f towel.

The white foam pad you refer to is this the 'stock' pad that comes with the pc? If it is chuck it in the bin now and save yourself the hassle of it 'breaking' up on you!

Yeah, what Brazo said.

I would also skip the "Spray car with 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol and distilled water and dry" step. If you're going to be polishing the car I don't really see a need for this step at that point in your process.

I would also apply Klasse AIO before you apply SG. You can apply SG (no waiting) right after AIO, but as Brazo said, wait 24 hours between coats of SG.

Thanks for the info on Porter Cable speeds, I would've guessed #4 meant 4krpm, #5 meant 5krpm and so on...

I'll be ordering Klasse AIO soon to add as a step, I've read so much praise on the stuff so it really has to make a difference.

I do have tons of quality microfiber detailing and polishing towels and a good collection of buffer pads (the one that comes with the porter cable is just gonna collect dust).
