Plan for the 10 year old...

Well, it's time for the ol' Stratus to have a face-lift. She's 10 years old, and has seen her share of salt from the sh*tty maine winters...but, she is not neglected. I use the Meguiars cleaner wax twice a year, but it is time to turn over a new leaf.

1.Wash with (you reccomend a soap...)

2.Clay her down...(again, you reccomend a clay bar...)

3.The Meguiars 3 Step system.

(you know, Cleaner, Polish, Carnuba Wax)

Let me know what you all think, and hopefully not be annoyed by ANOTHER plan thread.

It really depends on the condition. If she's got a lot of moderate to deep swirls, scratches, pitting, oxidation, etching and staining she might need machine buffing.

If she's in good overall shape with only minor surface defects then the steps you mentioned should work fine. I would add a more aggressive cleaner into the mix if there are spots of moderate defects.

Since you're already using Meg's I assume you have a supplier for their products and can continue to use them. Staying with Meg's the process would be something like:

wash - Deep Crystal Wash, Gold Class Shampoo or NXT Wash

clay â€â€œ Qwik Clay System

remove isolated defects â€â€œ ScratchX

overall cleaner â€â€œ Deep Crystal Cleaner (Step1) or Clear Coat Body Scrub

polish - Deep Crystal Polish (Step2)

wax - Deep Crystal Wax (Step3), Gold Class Wax or NXT Tech Wax

There are certainly similar products from other quality manufactures that can be substituted or mixed in.

PC.
