Pinnacle Paste Glaz vs. Signature Series

"Thin layers and not letting it completely dry are the key."

This may have been an issue for me. Yep, time to retry...

"Well, I am officially sick. I divided my trunk lid into 1/4s and applied Natty's, #16, Signature, and S100. I doubt appearance differences will be noticeable, but I am also going to test"

Sick would be doing 8 test panels and each of the waxes one with and one without the corresponding paint cleanser. :rofl

"I think mtodde is coming to Hilton Head for Thanksgiving so I need the best product to be on my car by then."

Tempted to send Todd a jar of my Souveran for the black Lexus SC. :xyxthumbs

Who has a black SC?

My folks are supposed to, but it has been a few weeks since I talked to them . Their accountant was trying to find a way to write off the lease payments and sell their Tahoe to their business...they know someone that owns a Lexus dealership and wanted to get the new Pebble Beach edition SC430.

:nixweiss I'll give them a call this weekend and see what is going on with it.

When I told Lee they were buying it, I didn't know they had not taken delivery; I was just excited because it was a cool car and I all my questions were about the car, not the details. I talked to my sister today and she said she didn't know if it was going to work out or not.

Laugh funny combo's. Is Paste Glaz really worth picking up?

Yes. Outstanding on pearls and silvers. I may grab a container before it goes away. You can never have too many waxes to chose from...especially if you either detail professionally or as a hobby for family and friends.

As usual, it is cloudy here so I cannot really see the appearance of Signature on my car, but so far it looks great. Maybe a tad more reflective and clear than #16, but it is not a fair comparison because I had #16 over Natty's.

The sun needs to come out so I can see if Signature mutes or shows off the metallic flake.

Scott, that Pinnacle 2 for 1 deal on Paste Glaz was looking good. Is it still on?

I just did a round of P21S today and I have to say it's really my favorite all-around wax. Took some pics with the F100...hopefully I will capture the flake better. After the slides get scanned, I will post some very hirez photos.

Todd did a big detailing job on the Solara and it is looking sharp. I may snap some photos tomorrow. He's getting handy on the PC...

I liked the Signature as well but I think P21S beats it hands down. I am not sure if this is a reflection (no pun intended) of the high flake content in the Millenium Silver or not.

My mom's SUV is two-toned with Millenium Silver and I cannot say it has anymore flake than Lunar Mist. Thunder Cloud, on the other hand, has an extreme amount of flake (also larger than the flake found in MS and LM).

I am unable to notice a difference in appearance between the four waxes I put on my trunk lid. S100 attracts the least amount of dust but on such a small surface area, it is difficult to notice anything.

The sun came out in full shine for a few minutes today so of course, I pulled my car out of the garage. Signature almost seems to darken the paint ever so slightly (not as much as Natty's) but is very reflective and clear. Not sure if I prefer it over #16...honestly, they're so close it is hard to have a preference if cost is not a factor.

You raving over P21S will have me applying S100 to my mom's SUV when I detail it.

I cannot imagine Signature muting the metallic flake. IMHO bringing out the flake is its best feature. Lee's car looked great with the P21S, but I thought it looked darker. The flakes were definitely popping. At that level it really gets into a beauty is in the eye of the beholder type thing.

I did the VM + EX-P today...it looks good, but it was pretty overcast by the time I buffed the EX-P off...this time I left the EX-P on for about 30-40 minutes. To prep I used SSR 2.5 on the horizontal surfaces in an effort to remove some micromarring and Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion on the entire car.

We saw a couple of brand new Mercedes with severe orange peel. I'm not talking C class either. One was an otherwise beautiful E55 AMG in a dark gray and the other was a black SLK. The silver S55 AMG seemed to have a much better paint job.

I just checked Autogeek and it is still on! Plus you can use your 10% Autopia discount so 2 are $39.40 with shipping. Don't ask me how I know, LOL! Maybe I can trade one.

One of my neighbors is a full time mobile detailer...most of his business is a one step wash & wax in the parking lot at office parks...my product collection puts his to absolute SHAME and he is pretty jealous. If I had his pressure washer, I'd probably loose my day job, LOL.

The Signature is on sale for $29.95 plus shipping, BTW.

The Signature kit is also on sale for $60 less discounts...that may seem pricey, but you get the Paint Cleansing Lotion, car wash & Crystal Mist spritz, plus a few mf products...

Todd,

Millenium Silver is a shade darker than Lunar Mist and has an ever so slight green tint to it depending on the lighting. Not surprised it looked darker to you with P21S.

Lee's car is definitely a bit darker than ours...I was thinking it had more gray, but Toyota loves green in their metallic paints. It was still pretty sunny when he finished and the metal flake was pretty awesome.

I think if anything it has more grey, I have never seen green.

I thought my car was lighter than Lunar Mist, but maybe it's because Todd's car was in the shade today... Guessing on shades is tough since these two silvers are so close.

Autogeek has an Autopia discount? How does it work, haven't ordered anything from them before but probably will as they have a large product selection!
