Anyone heard of or used this before. Is it as good as they claim? Surely there is an equivalent domestic version of this that does same trick, i.e. vanish?

Any avdice/views greatly appreciated

I use the sounus stuff and really didnt think it was that great. Go get a gallon of Castrol Super Clean and some white vinegar. Use 3 ozs of the CSC and put 3-4 oz of the white vinegar in during the rinse. Works just as well and you can use the CSC on another million applications.

currently I use Micro Restore, You can get it anywhere (pakshak/Autogeek etc) and for half the price you get twice as much as the Pinnacle product.

always thought I was doing laundry the right way but this stuff makes my MF soft as the day I bought it, even waffle weaves. Im sold. :xyxthumbs

I would love to find a cheaper solution, others mentioned Charlie's Soap in previous threads, I have yet to try it though.

I use the Pinnacle product, and while I don't think it's like peanut butter to bread, it still does a good job. A bit better than regular laundry detergents, but best use comes with soaking your microfibers in a bucket of this stuff.

I have it. I use it along with detergent, though. But I really dont' notice any difference. Washing my towels on hot with Tide, and using white vinegar in the rinse cycle has always kept my MF's pretty soft and clean.

I still would like someone to explain to me how a detergent knows it's cleaning a microfiber yarn as opposed to a larger sized yarn. I ask this after 30 yrs in the textile industry.

My personal cleaning choice... Era regular in hot water with a little distilled white vinegar in the rinse

I ask myself the same question, I know nothing of fiber or laundry. It wasnt until recently I learned about what temp to wash my clothes in, im clueless on the subject.

I can say though that using regular tide and warm water produced towels that didnt look or feel as good when done compared to what I get now. Bear in mind this is not what I use to wash my towels in everytime, only when they seem to need it.

guessing its more about the detergent's effect on the type of soil rather than the type of fabric.

Then again I have been wrong before, ask my ex.

Castrol SC, hot water, wash on "heavy". White vinegar in the rinse cycle, its on par with Micro Restore, IMHO. You can wash your pads with this mix fine too, just don't put a terry towel in.

Just be careful of that stuff, it is very strong! It will eat away at chrome or polished aluminum, not to mention your skin! If it's not thoroughly rinsed out any residue could (in theory) cause damage.

I'd stick to a good detergent if I were you.

Me, too, Leo! There's no such things as a "smart cleaner" to my knowledge. These liquid microfiber cleaners are very strong detergents that do not have the softeners, fragrances and other junk that tend to clog up synthetic microfiber yarn.

In my experience, there are many good over-the-counter solutions for cleaning microfiber towels.

I've been using All Clean and Pure (no fragrance or softeners) with my towels. Mostly DF Towels and Sonus der wunder polishing MFs washed separately and my 100% cotton towels (also washed separately). I rinse them twice and they come out fine.

I guess I should put a teaspoon of distilled white vinegar in the rinse cycle as well?
