I said "What I don't understand is why someone will state their opinion then end with a hateful comment or a personal attack on the other."

No, guess it's not an attack, literally. More a hateful comment. Maybe I should've offered "Childish and narrow-minded" as an option.

It means "I'm right, you're wrong. No discussion or reasoning needed or wanted. Just leave."

"Panties in a wad" translated: if you don't agree with me and/or you're liberal, then you're a homo. Attack or not?

It's a sound-bite reply to discussion, a school yard "approach" to healthy debate.

It's like if I replied "If you don't know how to spell "Challenge" correctly, then you're an illiterate so your opinion is stupid.

I remember this during Vietnam. "Love it or leave it." Meant "If you don't agree with me, you're a traitor so leave."

Heard it plenty. While I was serving my country in our armed forces. Without panties. To defend our right to disagree and discuss.

To all those thanking a veteran, you're welcome.

11th Inf Brigade, Americal Division, '67 - '68 mos 11b40 otherwise known as a grunt. take it from me, brother, you're too easily offended and your deficits have probably held you back from being all you can be. in other words from back in the day,...lighten up Francis!

Obama is considering making returning soldiers use PRIVATE healthcare for war induced trauma? REALLY? REALLY? Let’s not cut welfare and turn our backs on not only education but also the soldiers, marines, and sailors who keep this country safe.

Heatgain, jcandiman, take it easy guys. Really counterproductive here. I think we need to pull together and focus on what Todd is saying.

As bad as VietNam was for some of us, the USA was never in real danger of enemy attack or economic collapse. We're facing both possibilities now. Good guys like you and me need to get on the same page and make this work.

USMC, '70-'72, GRUNT

John Henry & jcandiman,

I'm neither angry nor offended. Merely making observations.

Somehow that results in "you're too easily offended and your deficits have probably held you back from being all you can be."

Not angry, offended, or insulted from that either. It does, however, illustrate my observations, n'est pas?

Merely making an observation.

And thank you guys for serving too! Even the 11b's! :)

If you want a different perspective than the liberal news at 6, read Neal Bortz web site and check out the links he posts to other conservative articals.

One thing to consider, Thomas Jefferson said when you take from those that will work and give to those that will not, then democracy will end. The evil rich (as defined by the current crooks in power) only amount to 1% of the population but they pay 40% of the taxes, so pandering to the poor pitiful poor that don't pay taxes is the best way to stay in power. If we keep down this road, corporatations and small businesses are getting the shaft more and more to pay for government handouts and welfare. So how long before join jolly ol England with it's socilized medicine, 6 months to get cancer treatment and 3 years to see a dentist -don't be so smug and think it can't happen.

LESS GOVERNMENT - wake up ya'll, or are you just fat and happy to let one man think for you instead of using the brain God gave you?

BTW, I never served in the millitary, my dad joined the Marines at age 32 to fight in WWII, he passes away 6 years ago at age 92, I thank God he didn't live to see the mess we're in now.

What we need are politicians who have read and understand the 10th ammendment that spells out what exactly the federal goverment should be involved in.

10th amendment? What's that? :wall

It's as amusing as all the people that want a "popular election" for the president. I don't think these people have any idea what the federal government is supposed to be.

Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People. Ratified 12/15/1791.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

I was joking.

I got my Pink Slip last week. I am seven weeks behind in pay and have been told the check is in the mail. I gave up my location and referred past customers to detailer friends. For the past two years I have worked seven days a week and sixty hours to take care of a gentlemans car collection (60 to 70 cars). I have a four month old boy sleeping next to me since we can not afford his day care. The economy is the reason I no longer have my job. But instead of being angry at the idiots, tax cheats and the pathetic lying pieces of crap,

I am thankfull that my wife still has her job and we can probably get through this.

I am thankfull that my new son is beautiful.

I am thankfull that I have years of experience.

I am thankfull for the chance to work on the most amazing cars ever built.

I am thankfull for knowing that when one door closes another one opens.

I am thankfull that my ten year old has a wicked fastball.

There is always a lot to be thankfull for and in a way it is kind of exciting to build from scratch. But I am not twenty with no responsibilities. 2 kids a wife and a house will make this difficult but I have faith.

It is funny though, last week a kid at the gas station was telling me about how he could not get to work due to the fact his car broke down. I only know this guy from stopping in there from time to time. I respected the fact that he works two jobs so much that I gave him my (1995)BMW 325i conv. He offered to pay me something for it but I just wrote gift on the title. The next day I stopped on the highway to help a lady change her tire. Then two days later I was told that I no longer had a job.

I still just laugh about that because what else can you do. Life is a *****, but that is what makes it worth living.

Oh ya!!! I am thankfull for all of our Soldiers!!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless Ya!!!!!
