Pictures of my ride

Just a couple of pictures of my 1991 Spirit R/T that was at the All Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle this past weekend. Those wheels are a pain to clean. Clay bar couldn't get all of the brake dust off.

I'll try and get a more detailed picture of the rims this weekend to post. They are definitely a challenge to keep clean, especially when I drive it daily during the summer. I think Wheel Wax may save me a lot of work though!

yeah those wheels look difficult. If you are showing your car, definitely take them off and work on them. Start with a good wheel cleaner (platinum or p21s) and because these are painted treat them just like your paint. Use a cleaner, (DACP) then polish (AIO), and try a sealant like UPP. Put multiple layers of UPP on there, it will not only have a high gloss but will be easy to clean. When you have the wheels off, clean the wheel wells perfectly.

another tip, when showing your car wash the tires on the treads when you park, don't dress them but make sure they are very clean and blend in with the dressed sidewalls.

Thanks for the wheel cleaning tips. I actually have the P21S gel wheel cleaner, however I really don't like using it. I have tried it twice, and both times after rinsing, it left milky white streaks all over the rims. They faded away after an hour or two, but it bothers me as to what is happening. They are painted wheels, so I clayed them, and then put Wheel Wax on them last time. I would love to take the wheels off for cleaning, but I would take me more time than I have available at the moment to get them off (no air compressor :( ). Plus, I drive it daily during the summer, so even a good detailing is tough to fit in.

when you get those cleaned up, try using those foam paint brushes for applying your sealants, should fit right in there pretty easy.
