Pics of Cyclo in action and use?

that is awesome I cant wait to try it on my car now, I hope it makes defect removal a little easier as I wasn't impressed with the PC, I had used the PC for about a year now on a perfect stock paint job, then I traded the car in for a new car with dealer installed swirls and thought oh this shouldnt be hard to fix, wow...after all the money I spent on products to do swirl removal and time learning and to see the results I about gave up my autopian citizenship, hopefully the cyclo will get me set back straight

Thanks guys, the next few details I have are on a white car, a camper, and a snowmobile so I doubt I'll be getting any defect removal videos of those. If I get done with my detail today early I'll try to pull my dads jeep in and do a panel.

dmxsoulja3, I find that the cyclo makes swirl removal easier for me. I just didnt enjoy using the PC at all, and now I just turn the cyclo on and my arms never get tired and it doesnt take me as long. The cyclo finishes down really nicely with polishes, so Im finding I dont have to do 3-4 step polishing anymore to get rid of micromarring I can almost always jump from EC/Optimum polish mix down to Blackfire finishing polish.

Anyway I could cohearse a sample of the ec/op mix for a few bucks? I think I remember you telling me it was the go-to for the cyclo, right now I'm working with XMT and SSR products.

Id be more than happy to give you some samples of each...How much are you looking for, I have some moe OP coming in soon so I can send some out when it arrives?

yeah I don't need much just an oz or two to try on a spare hood I have, my newest treatment is take a dry dust broom over the hood in circles...instant swirls lol...so I' can do a side by side of my XMT vs this mix that you guys rave about before I spend more money and get more upset :)

haha I did the same test on my spare hood...I will shoot you a PM when my Optimum Polish arrives and get your shipping info.

Just for some extra info. I used my cyclo after a wet-sanding treatment. I started with wool pands/high abrasive and ended with light polish/foampads. With a slow north south/east west pattern, the wetsand hazing was completly gone. I didnt use any glaze to fill in the microscratches. Once I was down to paint sealant, the damn thing was spotless. No swirls. No marks. 2 weeks later after a wash, same result with minor wash marks. Just try like hell not to touch the backing plate onto the paint... I made that costly mistake already. Most of the time the scuffs can be buffed out with a little bit of compound and a microfiber.

Im not trying to sound like a damn salesman but this tool really works.

Nice video, pretty much the same way I use my Cyclo, although for heavy polishing I slow the passes down and use more pressure.

I also do this, I will be working on a black Ford Galaxy soon and if I can get the lights to work with me I will take a video of defect removal on it. The nice thing about the cyclo is you can really put some pressure on it if needed and it doesnt bog down a bit. I think everyone who has a cyclo sounds like a salesman for it since they love it so much :)

Interesting, never heard of anybody using wool pads with it before for paint correction. Did you use the Cyclo brand wool pads? I've used those under MF bonnets but never by themselves (seemed scarier than just using the rotary with foam pads).

Accumulator, I posted a thread recently about the cyclo and terry bonnets and wool pads. I will be doing a 28 foot camper next week. Would I be able to use terry bonnets with a RV cleaner from Megauirs do you think? I dont want to ruin all my pads

yeeeeears ago when i first was working in a detail shop, thats what we used... a cyclo(or similar - they were blue though) with wool pads (the kind that "snap" around the head - not velcroed on ;) ) and then we had green foam pads that we followed up with.

wool pads - for any car that didnt require a rotary and compound, we used, i think, pro-phase, or something along those lines

foam pads - for all cars after being buffed out - carnuba

Gee, I dunno...I don't know a *thing* about doing such jobs. Wouldn't terry pads load up and become useless after a while?

bshertzer- Huh, interesting that you too used one with wool pads..and that must've been a while ago; I haven't used the slip-on Cyclo stuff for years.

I checked out the wool pads ( LINK ) that wicho661 uses, might be worth trying for somebody who has a Cyclo but needs to do rotary-type correction.

Hoshua312- Those wool pads might be the answer to your RV dilemma, too.

accumulator... yea, it goes back 15 or so years. amazing how one tool keeps a lasting impression in your mind :chuckle:

Awesome video Josh!

I love the part at the end where all you hear is silence... and crickets :chuckle:

It would be a great sound clip to have around at times.

With all this talk about the Cyclo I am going to do some research on it. Seems like a great tool!

haha - Thanks guys, Im still waiting on my next detail so I can take some clips of defect removal. I have a snowmobile this Thursday so I'll take my camera along just in case.

If anyone is on the fence about getting a cyclo...Go for it! It is the greatest detail tool I have. It has made detailing so much more enjoyable for me.
