Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself and share my story. I've been reading the boards and I just wanted to thank everyone for all the info I have learned thus far. Can't wait for the future w/ everyone here!

I think I just scored the deal of the century. Three days ago, I picked up the 7336 from what I thought was an already low price of $69. So I went to Lowes again today just to look around and while I was in the tool section, I noticed the space where the PC7336 was (I bought the last one). Get this, the price was marked down again....to....*drum roll please*......$29!! I ask the lady that since I just bought one 3 days ago if she could PM the price and she said no problem! So basically I picked up a brand new PC7336 for $29, saving almost $100 off the price of the 7424 at other sites! BOO-YAH! Just wanted to share my excitement w/ the enthuists on this board! :)

I hate you! :grrr... just kidding

I went to 3 different Lowes and none of them had one. I already have a PC 7424, but at the low prices that I've been hearing people pick them up for I had to try and snag another one. No such luck. :(

Anyways, congratualtion on such a killer deal.

Heh, thanks. Yea, I was totally shocked to see it lowered almost $40 in about 3 days. But thankfully for me it was for real!

Is there an advantage to the 7424 over the 7336?

No real difference, they are virtually the same machine, only difference is the 7336 comes w/ a 6" counterweight, while the 7424 comes w/ a 5". The 7424 is marketed for polishing while the 7336 is for sanding.

Which part is the counterweight? Does it mean one has a bigger disk size, or they both have the same diameter working surface? Can the LC pads be bought in both 5" and 6" sizes? And last question--is one lighter than the other? I would think lighter is better with these.

... and then polishing guys put in a 6" counterweight.

Counterweight is not what you seem to have in mind, it seems you are having backing pad in mind.

For what it is worth. I purchased one from Lowes in Boise Id. (You know the team that just got done beating Oklahoma) For $59.95. I asked the salesmen how many they had and he said 7 or 8. I had them ship it to me UPS. I would think that they also would ship to you. I wish I would have only paid $29.00 but I am very happy with the $59.95 price as these things are getting very few and far between at the discounted prices.

I just got mine last Wednesday for $45.00, $29.00?? now that's a bargain! Tough to find now... And I don't think anybody will match that price...:nixweiss

Killer prices on these PCs. In Kansas City they have been only marked down $10-$15 depending on the store. I found one outside the city for $89 and bought it. It seems like maybe it's a question of store location and supply. Lots of PC's on Ebay that are new going failry cheap so these people probably got killer deals too! PS Go CHIEFS!!!!!
