Picked up a 2013 Mazda3...the detailing bug has bitten again

After a long hiatus, it feels good to be back in the world of detailing again. My '99 Protege and I finally parted ways last month after 10 years, and I picked up a 2013 Mazda3i. It sat in the garage for almost a week before getting driven, while I brought the car up to my standards (all normal people do this, right? :D )

Here's the result of my first detailing session with it.
Sonus Ultra-Fine clay
P21s paint cleaner
WG sealant
QD+

I happened to have a set of aftermarket wheels and snow tires from my wife's previous car, so that's what is mounted now. The tires were a slightly lower aspect ratio than stock, so it increased the wheel gap by 3/4" on all four corners. I'm not thrilled about that, but I'll deal with it for now. The tires are nearly brand new, so there's no way I'm tossing them and buying new ones. Now if only there was some snow to play in.

It's good to be back on the forum. Keep it shiny... B)

Looks good and it's nice to have you back.
I wouldn't get riled up about the wheel gap- it's not even noticeable.

White95Max- Yes indeed, that's a great car you got there!

If the different wheels/tires changed the fender gap, does that mean that 1) they're shorter in overall diameter and 2) the speedometer/etc. is now off, reading a bit high?

Yes, I'm sure that the speedo is reading a bit high because of the smaller tire diameter. I keep it in mind when driving, but have yet to drive past a mobile radar station to check.

I had to put a coat of Pinnacle Paste Glaz on the 3 this morning - it impressed me as it always did on my previous cars! What a gem of a product. I'm glad I still had some left.

After Paste Glaz and QD+ a couple days later. One of these days, the sun will come out and I'll get to see how nice it looks in the sunshine!

Looking good !!!! Congrats on the new purchase. Wow !!!! Paste Glaz??? I see you are kicking it old school :)

Yep, still got about 1/4 of the can left. Then it's on to my cans of Natty's and Natty's Blue. I had to re-hydrate my old Mothers mag/aluminum polish yesterday. It has definitely been a while since most of my detailing collection has been touched.
