After a long hiatus, it feels good to be back in the world of detailing again. My '99 Protege and I finally parted ways last month after 10 years, and I picked up a 2013 Mazda3i. It sat in the garage for almost a week before getting driven, while I brought the car up to my standards (all normal people do this, right?
)
Here's the result of my first detailing session with it.
Sonus Ultra-Fine clay
P21s paint cleaner
WG sealant
QD+
I happened to have a set of aftermarket wheels and snow tires from my wife's previous car, so that's what is mounted now. The tires were a slightly lower aspect ratio than stock, so it increased the wheel gap by 3/4" on all four corners. I'm not thrilled about that, but I'll deal with it for now. The tires are nearly brand new, so there's no way I'm tossing them and buying new ones. Now if only there was some snow to play in.
It's good to be back on the forum. Keep it shiny... B)
