Pick a logo...any logo!

Advantage

I just got my first drafts back for my Advantage Mobile Detailing Logo. I've got a couple revisions inmind. What do you guys think. Any suggestions for revisions?

I heard on the radio that red is an attention grabber and that is why so many fast-food places use red in their logo. It sort of speeds up the mind. Blue on the other hand, is a soothing color and tends not to grab the attention as much. I know this might be off the topic a little bit, but I just thought I'd share it with you. Also, I don't know who was behind these findings, just heard it on the morning talk.

You are right about the attention grabber but you also have to pick a color to go along with your business. Such as, blue, is soothing like you said. However what else is blue? Water. And what do people think of when they think of cars and water? Cleaning cars. I think red would be good for a performance shop or something though.

Keep in mind this was a study for fast-food also. They don't want to soothe you at a greasy spoon. They want you to eat. When I read my post again, it kinda looked like I was saying not to use blue. Sorry about that. It wasn't a knock on your choice of color. Sorry bud!! :)

I disagree with the people who chose #2.

IMHO the #1 is the best (maybe not in color)!

It is the most sophisticated, refined and the two arcs in the logo wonderfully integrate and combine the A and the M letters!!! Maybe you can put a third one in to represent a D as well.

#2 is more generic American typography.

I like #1 and # 4 personally, #1 gives me the the impression of professionalism (sheesh that's a long word :P), it's simple and kinda reminds me of Apple in a good way . #4 is simple and great with the little pic of car, I like it more than #1.

I'm not too hot for #2 , I guess it's the font and fluorescent colours which give the impression of extreme sport etc.Be very careful in using the lettering 'AMD', I'm not sure if you'll have legal issue with the big CPU company. #3, the same issue with the 'AMD' , it reminds me of the cpu company.

#2 or #4. I just prefer the overall look of those two. #1 & #3 both look professional, maybe more so than the other two, but all of them look professional IMO. I think #2 and #4 are my appealing to the eye. You can't really go wrong with any of them.

I would be careful with the AMD logo. Just make sure it looks nothing like the computer AMD logo at all. Even though the initials mean something entirely different, you don't want anyone sueing you for trademark infringement. I have worked in trademark and patent law and I have seen it happen for weirder things.

I'm a fan of #4

Alot of good comments. I will only add based on the comments, which have swayed my opinion some, that I like #4 perhaps the best.

Thanks for your opinions guys. You've given me a few things to work with on the revisions. I'll be sure to post the final product when it's done.

They all look really good. Who did you have design your logo? I am paying a friend who is a good artist to draw one for me. I am sure it will not look as professional as yours, but I am going for a more fun look. Oh yea, what did they charge to come up with the logos?

Logoworks.com

Maybe a little expensive. But with the options you get and all the revisions you get (I got the smallest package so I got two revisions) are worth it in my opinion. There's a lot of other companies offering a lot less for a lot more $$.
I consider myself a very good artist and painter, but for some reason I just couldn't make a logo for myself that looked decent. I guess it's because I've never really tried to do anything like it. I paint people and animals and stuff.
If I had any friends with the ability to draw it. I definately would've gone for it.
