<strong class='bbc'>I'll use a QD, but only after a wash and dry (which usually eliminates the need for it :-)[/b]
When I first started detailing and found this forum I had never even heard of quick detailing. Sure enough, when you look at the car care sections in many super markets, drug stores, hardware stores, etc. there often isn't a single QD displayed. So I figured I'd never get THAT involved in detailing, and pretty much ignored it while trying to learn the basics. But now I can't do without it.

Then I wondered if people used it after washing. Sounded pretty anal to me, but when I asked it turned out that many (most?) here use QD right after washing. So I tried it and found that it makes a significant difference in both looks and feel. It also takes care of those spots you missed while washing (and drying). [/b]
[/b][/QUOTE]

Compounding on Bruce's comments, I've found that a QD right after a wash helps add to the glow that you get from the paint. Since I own a white car, I'm sure that it is not as noticeable as if you had a darker vehicle.

In regards to AutoBob's comments about scratching, that is what the Miracle Towel is all about. The plushness of the towel removes any of the <strong class='bbc'>minor[/b] (and that's the whole point-if it's that dirty...wash it!!) dust, etc. And the QD spray leaves behind a nice clean car.

Due care needs to be taken about how much dust (and what type (large particles versus small)) is on the towel and using a second (or third or forth, even) towel when the first is too dirty. Proper technique is key, here.

Spritz the panel, spritz the cloth. Wipe in one direction only with the wet side and then in the same direction with the dry side. If you haven't put on too much spray, then you should have a clean stripe without any residue!! Now repeat.

Had some time today after some contractor walkthroughs, so I took some pics at some vintage KC spots around the area. Such a great time of year for pics. Sorry for my photo skills, they are terrible.

Thanks for looking.

Heck yeah, I couldn't go within 10 blocks of there without eating there, it's my favorite as well, ONLY that location though, the other locations are just not the same. Man, it's good.

I edited my post to read... "Even though the floor is a bit greasy..."

But it is the best!

Very nice pics... but I would put up some good ol Texas BBQ against KC any day:devil:

also, I am curious about wipers for the headlights... do they actually help during the rain? can you tell a difference?

Oh man, that's an age old argument, you'll hear a lot of Memphis folk say the same thing. I'd put Bryants and Oklahoma Joe's up against just about any BBQ in the US.

The wipers are actually only used when you use your washers, they do not wipe during the rain. They do work well though in the winter when you are going down the interstate and your lights get caked with crap, they clean them right off.

One day I will have to make it out to KC and give it a try. BBQ is a religion down here as evidenced by the largest BBQ cookoff in the world during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo :hurray:

You may want to check your numbers, I believe the American Royal is the biggest for BBQ cookoffs, I could be wrong though. I know that Memphis in May is a big one, but the American Royal DWARFS it.

I am actually a chef on a team here in KC and we ended up getting 10th in Pork this year, out of close to 400 turn-ins.

I wanted to get a picture at the American Royal building actually, but there was an event of some sort going on, so I wasn't able to.

EDIT: From American Royal Website: The Americal Royal BBQ contest is a KCBS (Kansas City Barbecue Society) sanctioned event. It is the largest BBQ contest in the world.

I would love to come to the Texas one as well, it sounds like a blast, I was looking at it online as I was checking out the stats.

BBQ contests are great. We went through 500 lbs of meat in 3 hours and 20 kegs before the night was over. We fed right around 450 people and figured we had about 750-800 come through our party. We were able to donate over $4,000 to ALS and 5-6 barrels of canned foods to Harvesters. It was a VERY successful weekend.

Great shots of you ride Husker Z, looks sweet! and for the BBQ you're all can ship some of it to me at PAC and I'll let you all know after I try them all..:D

I LOVE BBQ!

Memphis in May International Barbeque Cooking Contest according to wiki is "The Largest Pork" BBQ cooking contest in the World. 250+ teams from over 20 States and Several Countries

I'm a big fan of KC and Texas BBQ, but I can take or leave Memphis style.

Dem dares fightin words Yankee ^ :cornut:

Thanks for the compliments on the pics!

We had a guy show up as a guest this year at our tent from Memphis, he was pretty amazed. I would love to check out Memphis in May, it sounds like a big party, like all BBQ contests really are.

My favorite KC places would be:
1. Bryant's (downtown)
2. Oklahoma Joes
3. Jack Stacks
4. Bates City BBQ
5. Road Kill BBQ (my BBQ team I'm on at the American Royal)

All this BBQ talk is making me hungry:drool5::drool5::drool5:
I really need to get out of Jersey. No good BBQ here in the North East.

Pics look great:clap:

I've scouted a lot of photo locations in KC for car shoots, but Bryants has not been one of them. Interesting shots. Well done. I would definitely not do some of those spots at night.

I think I'm one of the 14 people in the Greater KC area that has never been to Bryants.

No, no night shots down there. I was actually in a hurry to get in and out in a few. But, that's where the best shots are taken.
