Hello:
I received for Christmas from my parents a HP Photosmart 7450 photo printer. It's been sitting around unopened since today, due to some extra time in observance of Good Friday. Anyway today I hooked it up while cleaning up my computer desk and all seemed pretty good. It does normal printing, but I have a Lexmark 1150 3 in 1 for that so I'm using it for printing photos, mainly 4x6s. Anyway for some reason this printer prints with a white border maybe around 1/4" wide. I was playing around with the settings in the print options and tried pretty much everything for a borderless picture but got no where. The one time I finally got a borderless picture, some of the picture is automatically cropped.
Even reading in the manuel it says if you don't use perforated tab paper, you will have the border. Even if I did get the perforated tab paper, it kinda ruins the photo having a perforated edge on one side of the photo. I'm going to play around with it a little more and ask my friend's father, but its not looking to good. Kinda blows because I really don't want to take everything apart and attempt to return it. Am I the only one who finds this pretty poor designing and defeats the purpose of a "photo" printer, when I get weird borders?
