Hi everyone!

This week, I got a chance to detail my 09 A4. This is my first detail! The car was in decent shape but the dealer gave me some nice minor swirls and holograms free of charge with the purchase :angry I tried to fix some scratches but they were too hard to get out on the stubborn hard Audi clear, I'll have to wait for my order of M105 and do a spot polish on certain areas.

Anyways, products and mothods used were.

Washing and drying

-Dawn Dishwashing Detergent

- Sheepskin Washmitt

- 2 buckets w/grit guard

- Waffle Weave blot dry

Clay

- Zaino w Mothers QD

Polishing

- Menzerna SIP w/orange LC

- Menzerna 106FA w/white LC

- PC 7424

LSP

-Zaino z5pro, 2 layers w/ZFX (another layer added after)

-Z6 between coats

-Z8 (not pictured)

Wheels

-P21s Wheel Gel

To give you guys an idea, you can see some holograms on the hood

Nice car. What are the specs?

Also, plate looks like BEER 293... lol

thanks Stock is 211hp/259ftbt. I believe. But my car has a software flash. So it's about 259hp/315ftlb. =D And yes to BEER lol. When I got it that's what I thought too.

nice work....but i spy an NSX?

Thanks. Yup, 91 NSX...with only 7000km (4350miles) =D

thats sad that the paint looked that bad already, looks great now though!!! Nice house by the way..

Looks good, very dep. Any pics of the NSX?

Thanks. No pics of the NSX yet. It will be detailed sometime and I will post pics of that =D

Thanks! Yea, I picked it up on a cloudy day. There was swirls and holograms everywhere. Looks like their noobs used a rotary and had no idea what they were doing. On the rear pillars I could see the path they took. But it's fixed now. =D The hood was a little tricky. I didn't have m105, so I might have to do that again with 105 since there are still some scratches there.

Looks amazing.

I have a 2009 Audi R8 also in Phantom Black. Hoping to get mine looking as you've done.

How long did your process take, start to finish?

Great Job! I love the headlights on those cars and on the r8s :bigups

Thanks! Yea, I bought the car solely on how awesome the headlights look. Just kidding.

Man... those A4's just keep getting better and better. This is probably the best looking one yet!

I agree, the design team for Audi just rocks. There is not 1 model that I don't like.

Looks amazing.

Thanks. I want an R8, hopefully someday...soon haha. It was my first time, so it took a while to get used to flash points and just how long to work things in, and it being Audi clearcoat. Took me around 15 hours.

Nice work! Love the reflection pics, looks like a mirror.

Nice NSX too, that's awesome how low mileage it is.

Thanks!

Ditto car/house and wheels in particular.

Are they factory options or aftermarket?

Agree, Audi design folks "get it". Have always thought their interiors were the benchmark for all Teutonic interior designs.

A '91 NSX with 4,350 miles? Garage queen defined!

Beautiful car! I have a 2010 A4 2.0T 6MT, Phantom Black with Sport Package on order for delivery the first week in July, and I've been looking for some quality photos of what the car will look like. Would you have any objections to my posting a link to this Thread on the AudiWorld B8 Forum? I'm sure the folks there would also appreciate seeing your photos and your tips on achieving an incredible finish.

Sure, no problem =D I've already posted at Audizine.

Great work, i particularly like the wheels

Thanks. Billium, they are factory that come with the sport pkg here in Canada.

The process I used was this.

1. Presoak with Dawn Dishwashing Soap (don't do this often, it's only to remove any previous waxes from the dealer etc..., I would use a foam gun, but that's still on my order list) I used a pump action garden type sprayer haha.

2. Wash with Pressure Washer, then go over again with 100% Sheepskin Washmitt using 2 buckets and dawn soap again

3. Rinse and dry car with Waffle Weave Towels using blot dry method

4. Then Zaino Z18 Claybar with some Mothers Quick Detailer (you can use any QD), since the car was fairly new, there wasn't much needed.

5.Quick rinse and dry using same methods as before.

6. Polished with PC using Menzerna SIP and LC Orange Pad (this removed most of the fine swirls but Audi clear is so hard, so I couldn't remove some slightly deeper defects, waiting for my M105DA)

7. Polished with PC using Menzerna 106FA with PC white pad. IPA wipedown when finished.

8. Spray down the car with Zaino Z6 Gloss Enhancer

9. Zaino Z5 with ZFX 3 layers (if you use Zaino, remember, VERY VERY THIN coats)

10. Quick wash and dry again to get rid of polishing dust.

I think that's what I did haha. I also clayed the windows and used zaino on them too.

For the chip, I'm in Toronto so my local Pfaff Audi has a division called Pfaff Tuning which did it.

Looks great man! Love to see the NSX as well, let me know when you detail it; I'll come help out no charge (and bring toys!)

Thanks! Sure! I'll give you a PM when I decide to do it! Sounds like it'll be fun. THe car shouldn't take very long as it's in very good shape, just the paint needs a little refresh although it's barely seen anything haha.
