Pets

I have a friend that has a dog (not sure what kind of dog) and it has the same type your Aussie had. Hers is terminal and they gave the dog 6 months.... 14 months later she's still going strong. They take her to the vet pretty often just to make sure dog still is doing well.

It's hard knowing that I will have to make a decision at some point to put her down. She is so sweet. My brother was sick over the weekend and he said she spent the whole day on the couch with him. He said it felt like she wanted to take care of him.

Rocket,
I am so sorry to hear this. Our prayers are also with you, your family, and especially for your "Honey". She looks just like her name - sweet and warm.
We have gone through many, many, pets in my life. I remember a couple of of the many dogs we had growing up; they were so wonderful! If you ever wanted to take a lesson on Loyalty, just look in your backyard, or wherever you dog is at the moment.

There are no other creatures as loyal and dedicated, and as noble, as our dogs. They also give much, and ask for so little in return. I also remember talking many times to one of our dogs when I was a kid, and thought that no one else would listen to me. I also remember telling him how much I loved him and was so grateful for him, his cold nose, his beautiful almond shaped eyes, his always being there for me.

The Scriptures also tell us that we should live together in so much love that tears will be shed when one of ours dies..

They also tell us that the Spirits of all living things on this earth (which of course, includes our precious pets) go back to Heaven to He who created them, and this gives me great hope and peace.

I know where all our wonderful animals have gone to after they left our care, and I personally believe that one day in the hereafter I/we will be able to see them again ! And this time, on a level that allows us to communicate with them and them with us! What a wonderful part of a huge Reunion for each of us to look forward to!

Again, our prayers and love is extended to you and yours ! Good luck, hope she make it through this !!!

Sorry to hear about honey's problems. It's no easy decision to make. We can only take one day at a time and make the best out of each one of them.

oh rocket, we're so sorry to hear about honey. we'll pray for you and your little girl. she looks very sweet in her picture.

So sorry to hear the sad news.

I've always 'liked' dogs, but it wasn't until we got our second dog about 3 years ago (a 4 lb Pomchi) that I suddenly became smitten by her and now feel what my wife has always felt for her older dog.

Needless to say, I feel your pain and am not looking forward to any issues with either dog.

I'll keep you in my prayers.

Im really sorry Rocket about the bad news .:(

Ive had many dogs and understand exactly what your going through and how hard it is.

You will do the right thing when the time comes, you will just know .

Enjoy her and love her all you can while shes here. Honeys spirit will always be with you no matter what.

Sometimes I don't get this. Its what makes it harder. We were told they feed off your energy and they want you to act like everything is normal.
Its hard but we have noticed a simple walk or ball playing is like nothing is going on. I truly do feel for you.

I certainly feel for you. Its one of the hardest things a person can ever be called upon to do. I've had dogs all my life and am just devastated every time i lose one. People that don't have or like dogs will never understand the bond and love between a person and their dog/dogs.

Thanks everyone.

John- that's a great point. I hadn't really thought of that but it makes sense. She always seems know how I feel so I can see how that would work.
