Pearl Clearcoat?

After seeing my buddies pearl white caddilac I am now obsessed with pearl clearcoat. I'm trying to picture it on a black car but really cant. A bunch of my friends say that they think it wont look too hot. Anybody see this? What other kind of stylish clearcoats are there? Maybe a black cherry type deal? :think:
 
I'm reasonably sure the pearl is in the color coat on the GM Diamond/Pearl White colors. It's basically a pearl flake instead of a metallic flake. I've seen pearl reds that look great on Caddys, and my Regal is a pearl green. A pearl black would look pretty good on the right car.
 
hmmm...well i think house of kolor might have something similar, maybe just not as pronounced. I know a friend of mine has a black car with blue flames on it and had the car recleared with a pearl clearcoat. I never really paid attention to it since I saw it before I got infatuated with the pearl white but I do remember the blue flames really sparkling in sunlight. Also saleen red is basic read with pearl orange clearcoat. Something creative has to be available for me :)

Very true. It's so incredibly hard to make a pearl paint touch-up job match that you might as well not even try. If I could get my entire car coated with that 3M clear stuff, then maybe... :2thumbs:
