here is a before and after pic of my car door. i have a 92 grandprix beater that i practice on. i whack a dent in, and roll it out.

this one took about 10 minutes to do. it was around the size of a nickle. if i was charging it would be about $60.00 retail, $40.00 wholesale.

Some questions.
Have you taken any PDR training?
How many PDR tools do you have?
Were they available locally?
How expensive were they?

hey charles, i had one week of training at a shop about three hours from my house, the place is called autocosmetics. i was lucky and the dealership i work at paid for the training and lodging for the week. i also bought my tools there. i have around 20 or so different rods, plus many little extras. light board, light, window cover, punched etc.the trainging and lodging ran around $2,500.00 cnd, for a week, and i have around $1,800.00 worth of tool and equipment. at autocosmetics they are very thorough and recommend at least 2-3 weeks of training. they also suggest 500 practice dents of different sizes and shapes before going on your own. i don't get alot of practice time so i am not comfortable with certain sizes of dents, but i keep pluggin away. i am glad i got into it because if i ever lose my job or get good enough i can always go on my own or it looks very appealing to dealerships or detail shops for jobs. check out the website. www.autocosmetics.com they also have a tool catalog on their site. their tools have a lifetime guarrentee. stay away from superior auto institute(www.nodents.com) i had a very bad experiance with them from ebay and they had a horrible rating because of bad service. hope this helps. any other question feel free to ask.

Thanks.
The Auto Cosmetics link didn't work for me. :(
A friend of mine has a used car lot and was considering looking into the PDR thing both for his cars and on a retail basis. The tool investment seemed quite high, but he did say they were very specialized tools and probably were not overpriced when you consider the design and engineering that goes into them.

sorrt folks, it is www.autocosmetic.com . the tools are very specialized. they are forged steel so you can't really get them nust anywhere. i heard of one guy making his own and paying to have them forged but that seems like more work than it's worth to me. i will post some pics of my tools and equip. later today.
