I have the 6" backing pad that I bought when I first got my PC and am satisfied with it thus far. I have been using the LC 6" pads, but it is time for new pads. What pads will work with the existing back up pad or is it necessary to buy one of the flexible back ups to broaden my selection of which pads to buy? I have looked at a lot of the pads you people have been praising, I just do not know if they will work with my existing back up ??

The flexible backing plate is much more forgiving than the PC plate. Just about any decent foam pad will work with what you have, like LC, Propel, Sonus, etc. Spring for the new backing plate and save yourself the worry.

Two of the most popular brands are Sonus and Propel and they both offer a *kit* that comes with the correct flexible backing plate. Regardless of what you go with, I would definitely get a flexible one to replace the rigid piece you have now. Aside from the real thick ones from TOL, most backing plates are the same.
