PCing windshield pillars and other narrow areas of paint?

Topic just about says it all... planning my first PC attack for next weekend and am wondering what's the best way to polish pillars and other narrow pieces of paint.

I have the standard sized 6.5" LC pads... but are they too big for that job? Everything will be masked... or do I need to do it by hand or go for something smaller like those 4" pads?

Your advice is appreciated!

I do them with the same pads you are using and never tape anything up. Most of the Poorboys products i use simply wipe off the rubber. Now if it is hard plastic trim i might tape up but otherwise i just use it as normal.

I do the same thing as F1504X4. I just use the pad that is on the machine. It works for me. If I am detailing someone else's vehicle I may tape off any black trim but mostly I use Poorboy's products and just wipe off the product if I happen to get it on the trim. Gotta love those Poorboy's products just for that reason.

Since I have a Cyclo and a lot of the 4" pads lying around, I bought a 4" back plate for my PC some time ago. Pretty much all I ever use the PC for anymore is getting into tight areas with the 4" pads (and occasionally light polishing with the 6" pads). To me, it seems like the PC is much more effective at removing defects with the 4" pad, and it is a little easier to manuever into tight areas than the Cyclo.
