PC7424 arrives "Down Under"!

I couldn't be happier with the service given to me by both Davids. My PC7424 kit was shipped 05/05 and I have it in my hot little hands today 10/05.The packaging and presentation is absolutely first class and I can't wait to try it.I have a 120/240V transformer on the way so I'll have to make do with looking at it and dreaming.

It certainly is a lovely looking piece of equipment!

I give a big thumbs up to Autopia!

Good news! You won't regret the investment. You guys 'down under' are in the same position as us UK Autopians - added shipping costs, transformer etc. really does push the total price up, but still worth it IMO. Enjoy!

Do Bosch or Black Decker have their own random orbital I wonder? Strange that Porter Cable only comes up with 110v:o

I did order MG G100 2 mths ago and was cancel by MG's distributor due to he was afraid if the PC breaks down it would be a hassle for me and him to rma it.So I bought a Dewalt sander DW443 and I got the chance to try it out yesterday. My 6mths old black car got a lot of micro marrings, buffer marks and fine scratches. The DW443 is is good tool, light and easy to control.Only it vibrates a bit stronger at higher speed but still I managed to control it.It works well with 8" and 6" pads.

Here what I did to remove/minimize all the paint defects.

1. Wash with NXT wash

2. MG #83 with MG's 8"Cutting pad and DW443 speed dial at 4.5.

3. MG #82 with MG's 8"Polishing pad and DW443 speed dial at 2.5.

4. Hand applied NXT Tech wax.

Btw I'm from Malaysia where the voltage here is the same as Australia and UK.

I saw no reason to give anyone else my business other than Autopia.Besides, there is so much information about PC's and so many easily available accessories.Proper advice is just a few keystrokes away!

I already have a FLEX rotary but it's a lot cumbersome and a bit scary for me to use.I bought it about 10 years ago but it has spent most of its life in the box.I've been deliberating over a PC for a year or so and so far,by the look of it,I made a very smart decision.

LWR did you get some extention cord ends so you could make up a 50' cord from the converter to the PC?

I'm in Melbourne Aust. I Went with the Dewalt Orbital (DW443). They're easy to obtain and consequently fix, plus a 1yr warranty.

The De Walt is quite powerful and I have been extremely happy with its performance.

Enjoy your new machine!

I have an extension cord on the way but I can't wait so I'm going to try it out tonight.

I never thought much about any other brands except perhaps Cyclo. The 7424 looked a lot more versatile and it seems to be the one that is most favoured and advice is aplenty!
