PC vs Makita

Yes. If they are the same results, they will compare.



I think the general consensus will be that the makita will be better for correction. However, with the introduction of the 105/205 combo, a lot of guys will say the PC does just as nice a job.



As a general rule however, the Makita will be faster. And the PC may not be able to generate enough heat to correct some of the super hard ceramiclear paints.
 
I have both machines and personally if you have the experience i would much rather use the makita, while the pc will remove almost anything a rotary buffer will it is much slower and may require several more passes so i would definately go with a makita

Both are used A LOT by myself. BOTH are worth having aboard. You never know when you will encounter a car (bmw comes to mind) when you just may need a SOFT polish and the power or there lack of to finish the paint down as best as you can...
 
"Generally" speaking the Makita is just by far a better machine for correcting... However the PC will do a good job as well with the correct product/Pad combo and more time.



Think of it like this.. Someone hands you an air sander in one hand and a single piece of sand paper in the other... Both will eventually net the same results however one is going to do it a whole lot quicker ;)
 
does the makita get as hot as a pc? polished this weekend with the 7424 and man did it get uncomfortably hot. using 4" pads too. first time i inserted the side handle to prevent hand burn.

Not unless it's very very hot or you use it for a long time non-stop... I hate the PC because it vibrates... Flex is much better imo but that damn ccw rotation is so annoying I refuse to use it haha... Makita is better all around and the only down side is that it simply can't finish down on a few paints as it creates holograms/buffer trails
