since i've seen a lot of traffic about the PC 7424, decided to ask what technique works the best for you. our example will be a hood. in how many sections will you divide it into and how many times will you run the pc over the same area, if you are looking into removing swirl marks? number 8 pattern? up/down, left/right? random motion? by the way, mine will be here thursday!!
 
I divide the hood into two sections. Then, I work in the following 4 patterns:

If I am trying to remove swirls, I will repeat the 4 patterns a second time.
 
Poorboys Super Swirl Removers....SSR 1,2, or 3, followed by Pro Polish then with EX. I'll probably change to EX-P.

yes, i'm waiting for the new ex-p. never tried poorboy's before so i'm buying the ssr-1, ssr-2 and ex-p. we'll see how it goes. i've been using only meguiars. is ex the last coat??
 
I use to do all my polishing by machine and wax all by hand, but now I do everything by machine because it gives a nice light even coat which makes it super easy to remove. :)

Yes EX is last, unless you have a carnuaba topper.

same here, i apply a thin coat with the pc, makes it really easy and fast to remove. it helps me get the car done faster without compromising quality. which means more customers and more money. for the last step, i seal with m26. works wonders on dark cars, specially red.
 
When you guys apply cleaners/polishes and waxes by PC, do you buff off and remove them by hand via microfiber towel, or, do you remove them via PC again?


Which is the most efficient method?

i use a MF. i let the wax (m26) dry for about 5-10 minutes and then wipe it off.
 
Is there any good reason to like it dry for 5-10 minutes? Once it becomes a haze shouldn't it just be wiped off. I do a section at a time and wipe off the haze immediately and move on to the next section.
 
PC, divide hood into a left, right....
I work the hood from top to bottom, in a left right fashion, then up down fashion, then left right again....Always overlapping by about 1/3 pad.....Wax or seal by hand, i remove all products by hand with MF's....With Polymers, i let them dry real good, i will usually do the entire car before i wipe off, because their so easy to work with, as for waxes, i usually do 1/2 panels and wipe down....Sometimes there difficult....(I dont normally use wax, except as a topper anyway)
 
I use my PC in the patterns listed above for swirl removal and polishing. I've always applied waxes and sealants by hand since it is easier that way. I'm going to buy a finishing pad and try using that next time though.
