PC starter kit or Ridgid 2611

I have been considering the PC 7424 for a while now, and I have put together my starter package at autogeek. Does this look like a good starter kit??

Porter Cable 7424 Polisher

Orange Light Cutting CCS Smart Padsâ„¢ DA 5.5 inch Foam Pad

White Polishing CCS Smart Padsâ„¢ DA 5.5 inch Foam Pad

Gray Finishing CCS Smart Padsâ„¢ DA 5.5 inch Foam Pad

Dual-Action Hook & Loop Flexible Backing Plate 5"

Optimum Compound

Optimum Polish

Price is around $200, which is right around my budget. Are the optimum products any good? Anything better for a beginner? I have heard a lot about Menzerna products, was looking at Super Intensive Polish PO83. Is this a huge upgrade over Optimum? Worth the $30 extra price difference?

I am also considering a RIDGID 2611 machine instead of a PC. I hear its more powerful, has a good warranty, and is priced well. Is the machine up to the same quality as a PC though?

Thanks for any info

I have both. I use the PC with 4 inch pads and the Ridgid with 6.5 inch pads. I did a couple panels with the PC and 4 inch pads on speed 6 and it got pretty hot. The Ridgid is a smoother machine. Both have their advantages.

So for a beginner wanting to start out, which is better? Or maybe another way to put it, if you could only buy one, which one would you buy?

Also I have been looking up if I should get CCS pads or flat... What is the preferred pad on here? Does it really matter?
