PC-SMR and Klasse on white paint, I love it!

I love my new PC! Z-5 wasn't hiding most of my swirls anymore, so I was dreading doing SMR by hand again. So I went out and bought a PC. 3M SMR works so much better with it! It polishes to an amazing gloss. Then AIO is so easy to apply with the PC, and it does an amazing job cleaning the paint. SG I applied by hand, and it's real easy to remove if you wait long enough. Check out this picture! To me it looks so much better than Zaino because the paint looks so much deeper. This is with only one coat of SG on. I'll post another when my third coat dries in a little bit.

Should I place Meguiars #26 (I'm leaving in two days, can't order blitz or souveran) over my 4th layer of SG, or will it not do a whole lot on white paint. Thanks

wow, I have NEVER seen white paint shine like that. Its great to see people take care of their white cars. Not only that, but as someone else on the forum said, those older explorers seem to be some of the most neglected cars on the road. Good Job, as an answer to your question, IMO the #26 wouldnt deepen or increase the shine by much, if any. Gold Class has a great shine, but its longevity sucks. You can apply it with your PC too and get great results. Just my $.02 Keep up the great work!

Your Explorer looks great! I have a white Cobra that I currently use Meguiars products on. It looks great but I have been thinking about switching to either Klasse or Zaino. Your post may have just helped me make a decision.

Wow, that IS a nice shine. Especially since (if I remember right) it's been said that white is the hardest colour to get a good shine on.

Thanks for the compliments guys! This is awesome that I got this kind of shine. I now have 5 coats of SG and it looks amazing! I never thought I would be so obsessed with detailing at 17 years old!

Just remember to prep the surface with SMR or any other very mild polish if you go the klasse route. Zaino seems to amplify imperfections on Ford paint, so make sure they are all gone before you apply zaino.

Is this the SMR that you used? I'm surprised as 3M identifies this as appropriate for dark finishes. Which pad did you use, the wool cutting pad or foam? Thanks!

Yes, I used SMR for light colored cars. I used the foam pad that came with the PC. It works really well. For the other half, I used a meguiars soft buff foam and it worked well too.
