PC/Rotary Pads Interchangeable?

I have a variety of pads that I use for my PC....Sonus, a Meguiars, some Cyclo ones....my question is will these pads pads be compatible with a Rotary as well? As well as my standard 6" backing plate?



Because I am seriously considering purchasing a Makita from Coastal Tools. But I dont know how many more pads I should order as well.
 
Hey JL6er, your backing plate will not work with a rotary, you need to get one that specifically fits the spindle of a rotary.



Your Sonus, Megs, Cyclo pads will work with the rotary, you just need the appropriate size backing plates.

Okay then, so I'm just going to order a new 6 inch backing plate that attaches to the 5/8" spindle for the rotary. --Probably going to to go with the Lake County Velcro Pad Holder 6" from Top Of The Line.com.
