PC Pads

Whats a better pad to take out swirls, a 6 or 7.5. I got some free 7.5 pads with my purchase of my PC and I was talking to my detailer and he said that they are useless because they will not work as good as the smaller ones. I just want to make sure I don't need to buy some new pads.

to me...the smaller the pad..the less surface resistance..so the pad will spin instead of jiggle....

with a PC I use 6" pads and 4" pads....and find they work much better than my 7.5" pads...

I use 4" pads for correction..and they do work very good for this....you can remove scratches...water spots..bird etchings...paint transfer very fast with these...with the right products

I use 6" for polishing after defect corrections...

7.5" would be fine for waxing and glazing, but would definitely lack in correction power on a PC. Pads that size are designed for a rotary.

4" and 6.5" pads are what you need on a PC to do any serious correction.

Al,

Side question, are you saying the pad should spin or it should jiggle for best results?

Thanks.
