PC Pads & Polish for removing swirls?

I've been doing quite a bit of reading. This is what I came up with.



2001 VW Jetta, "Cool White", lots of swirls covering entire car. Car used to be washed with one of those car-wash bay brushes (yuck)! I'll try to take a pic today if possible and post the severity.



I should be able to get my hands on a PC 7336 or I'm going to buy one from Lowe's.



Searching over @ www.properautocare.com this is what I came up with.



To remove swirls:

1- Orange Power Pad (http://store.yahoo.com/classic-motoring/orangepowerpad.html)

1- Menzerna Intensive Polish (http://store.yahoo.com/classic-motoring/meninpol.html)



Final Polish:

1- Green Giant Polishing Pad for German Vehicles (http://store.yahoo.com/classic-motoring/grgipopadfor.html)

1- Menzerna Final Polish II (http://store.yahoo.com/classic-motoring/menfinpol.html)



Yay? Nay? Maybe something better and cheaper? I've heard good things about Meguair's products but the above stuff is "supposed" to be used with German Manufactured cars. I know VW isn't cream of the crop german..and may not have the same paint but I just want to do it right!

Yeah, I'd definitely go with the yellow pad for the first passes with the Intensive. I'd probably skip the orange pad, just follow the yellow/Intensive with white/Intensive, then white/Final.



IMO the big green pad is too mild for most applications, and I've never found VW (or Audi, or even Porsche) clear to be all that soft (in fact, Audi is *hard*).



Menzerna polishes work well. I happen to prefer 1Z and 3M, but that's just personal preference.



I'd clay it too, especially since it's white (rust blooms, etc. really show on white).
 
id get the meguiars pads and #83 DACP....they have a package of 2 polishing pads and a finishing pad......

thats all ur gonna need for the job.....DACP is as strong as u can use for a PC really, and buffs to a fine finish as the abrasives diminish,......
 
Alright....so I'll go with 1 yellow and 2 whites.

Question...how about getting clearcoat scratches out of wheels? On the lip of one of my Brock B4s there are some scratches that appear to be just on the surface of the clearcoat. But I'm guessing the clearcoat on the wheels is rather thin.



Any suggestions?
 
How does the Meguiar's stuff compare to Menzerna? I just found that we have a local shop that sells Meguiar products....



I was thinking about getting some #9 (Swirl Remover) and some #83 (DACP)...and then picking up some pads.



The guy mentioned something about the pads he carries have velcro backing...stupid question but are those what I need for my Porter Cable 7336?
