PC Orbital for Australia!!!!

Guys



I called Porter Cable in Queensland many years ago, to request the PC orbital , they said the cost to sell and obtain Aussie approval was too much. However I havent been to Autopia for quite some time , and I see things havn't changed, people still buy alternates to the PC.



Going to ring the importer and put them on to this web site and if a few of you Aussies are still after a 240V Aust Version , put the pressure give them a call too. One they see the current demand on all the sales their losing , it wont be long!

Since you posted about the PC, I have one sitting in my garage still in the box (unused)

He happens to be the guy who runs this website. His user name is David B.
 
I don't think either of the GMCs are the same as the PC.. My understanding of the PC is that it has a very long throw (10mm?) plus it's has slightly more torque in it's rotation than other DAs.

For the cost of getting a PC to your door in AU, you're better off buying a Makita BO6040. This DA is in a diffferent league to the PC in that it has forced rotation which puts it just below that of a rotary, but with the ease of use of a DA.

AFAIK Flex tools are available in Oz. Therefore look for the X1107VE. Same product as the PC (basically same company), but it is red. Big diff, eh?

I got one from Total tools about 2 months ago, I'm not sure that’s the best way of going about things mainly because when you work out the numbers its not that much cheaper then going for a PC. And for a novas like myself there are big advantages having the industry standard. One other thing to think about when buying the Dewalt is that you cannot use 4� pads, for me that’s something I would like to do. I have almost lost sleep over thinking about what’s the best way of doing everything And I still don’t have a good answer.
