PC on speed 6

A quick question for all you experienced PC guys........

.......as you increase the speed, is it nice and gradual or is there a sudden jump as you hit number 6??

Mine increases nice and gradual until number 5 and then as I turn it onto 6, the noise, vibration and speed increase dramatically.

Same here....there's a huge difference between 5 and 6, but between 3-4, 4-5, and so on, there's not as much of a difference.

Thanks for that guys.......I'll try it on 6 for more than 1 second in future...... if I can keep hold of it :D

Yes, I have the original PC that "goes to 7".:D

That guy's who's goes to 10 is obviously photoshopped!

What kind of counterweight/backing plate/pad are you using? Mine doesn't shake THAT much!

Mine actually does seems a bit "smoother" on speed 6. Definitely a big increase between 5 and 6. Mine is a 7336 w/6" weight and 6.5" pads.

Mine seems fine on all speeds with a 6" counterweight and 7.5" LC pads. A few are commenting on the big speed jump between 5 and 6. Mine has this speed jump, too. But mine is either on 5 or it is on 6. There is nothing in between like there is between the other numbers. Is this normal?

I do most of my polishing on 6, after starting slower (3-4 or so) to spread the product. DACP, SFP, #9, High Temp Light Cut all get used up through 6. LSP application and removal I run at 3-4. MF bonnets make removal of any LSP so effortless, and the results seem glossier than when I remove it by hand. Sorry for going off on a tangent, I love my PC....

To contribute something useful to this thread (in stead of ps'd pc pics)... My pc also has the speed jump somewhere between 5 and 6. I usually work a polish in at 4 for a few passes, then turn it up to just where the "warp drive" kicks in. This is maybe 5.5, give or take. I can hear some speed increase if I turn it on up to 6, but I usually just use it at the exact speed the jump occurs.

Mine also makes more noise at speed 6. I have not commented on it as I have not really taken that much notice.

Of course, my PC only goes up to 6. Maybe at 7 it is very different :)

If it's the 7424 it will be the 5" counterweight. This is what I have. I also have the 6" counterweight and can notice very little difference between either.
