PC not cutting out all of the swirls on a Vette, PICS!!

If you are trying to get swirls out you should be moving the PC about one inch per second with a good amount of pressure. Seems slow but that what you need to do. As far as the amount of pressure, as you are polishing push down on the PC untill is starts to bog down then let up a bit, that's about the right amount of pressure. Keep checking the paint to see that it's not getting too hot, if it's really hot let it cool down before proceeding.

I can understand going slow... but at the same time, I think some people are going so slow that they are basicly trying to make a milder product take out heavier damage.

sometimes it takes 2 passes with the same product to get all the defects out. If that doesnt work try some pressure or a Yellow cutting pad.

With a PC thats how you remove heavy marring. Going back and forth and up and down too quickly will accomplish next to nothing, as you will find out if you compound and polish that way. A PC does not create the speed or heat of a rotary polisher, so going slow with pressure is the only way to remove heavy marring. I hope this helps you.

Yea, I'm about to order a yellow pad, OHC and the lesser abrasive Optimum polish, and I need to find a waterspot remover, I'm gonna go search threads for an answer to the best product for that.
