PC heating up?

Hi guys, I was using my PC7424 with the 4" orange foam pad with Optimum compound to remove wetsanding haze today when i noticed the PC starts to heat up after about 10mins of working at speed 2 to 3 on my side doors. Question is, why? when I changed to the 6" pads, i noticed the heat dissapated, meaning that I could have pressed the PC too much against the door when i was using the 4" pads??? any insight would be most appreciated. Thanks

If you are running a small extension cord, I say over 100’ that would make the PC alone over heat. The PC doesn’t really draw that much current not has much as some power tools do.

Make sure you are not covering the vent holes on the side of the PC with your hand and or made sure the vents are clean and clear.

PC normally gets on the warm side but not real hot. You might try increasing the speed of the PC, to slow of speed can cause over heating if its under a real heavy load that makes it run real slow because the cooling fans are not running fast enough to keep it cool.

Hi super, tanx for the information. I figured out after a few days of using the PC that the frequent working at speed 2 caused the heating and once i turned up the speed, the PC got much cooler. Thanks again for replying :0)
