First of all, hey guys! This is my first post here, although I've been reading the board for a while.
After seing all the amazing results, I decided to get a PC and some pads. I bought the Sonus DAS pad kit plus DAS 1,2,3 polishes from autopia, and a PC from Lowes. As an aside, the PC from Lowes now costs 109$ before tax, and the packaging says sander/polisher. It also comes with a backing plate for sanding and a (white) polishing pad.
My question is, does anyone know how rough this polishing pad is? Can I (should I) use it with any of the Sonus polishes? Which one?
My plan for the car is (after wash and clay) is:
-Green pad + Sonus 2
-if needed Orange pad + Sonus 1 then Green pad + Sonus 2
-Blue pad + Sonus 1
-Wax
I will also have a banged up test vehicle this weekend :chuckle: so I will also try some rubbing compound I have and Meguiars ScratchX. Any suggestions on those?
Thanks a lot,
OV
