PC Build Quality

Your right .. I'm bad .. I shouldn't paint a picture of 1/4 of the population of Canada based on one person taking an opinionated and unsubstantiated shot at 1) the Germans 2) the Americans 3) Japanese. Probably 1/4 of the population of the world, or a good chunk of it anyway.

I appologize.

His shot was at manufacturing and the state of the workforce....yours was directed at the people of Quebec and Canadian francophones. There is a difference.

You should also re-read his post as he did not say anything negative about the japanese workforce but actually complimented it.

Jesstzn, kudos on the reply to EdLancers argument-by-stereotype. :xyxthumbs SilverBelle, I think you missed the tongue-in-cheek point that posting some ridiculous stereotype as a rebuttal is pretty idiotic. And I found it curious you think stereotyping a whole race of people is ok as long as it's a complimentary one...

J.D. Power & Assoc. is a marketing firm, not an independent tester. The information that they give are based upon peoples opinions

Uh not really. J.D. Power is recognized as one of the more independent/unbiased customer AND manufacturing quality control consulting firms in the world.

There research in this survey is based on a sampling of car owners who have experience with various vehicles. That's a very good methodology for judging quality in my opinion and one that is often spoken of as the gold standard among both domestic and foreign car mfrs.

J.D. Power also does independent checking on mfg plants as well and will employ testing procedures based on other sources than consumer experience in cars as well.

They basically develop frameworks for benchmarking car mfg and satisfaction using statistical methods which seek to minimize as much as possible any bias against a particular brand or car feature and get to the root reliability issues.
