PC 7424 Rattling

Hey guys -- I just purchased a 7424 and recieved it yesterday. I assembled it and there seems to be a rattling noise coming from the unit. I tightened the pad/backing plate securely.

Is the rattling noise normal?

I haven't used it on my car yet -- will the rattling go away once pressure is applied to the pad/backing plate?

Yes it makes a big difference.once you apply to the panels as you apply your products it should help.

sometimes my PC sounds like a bunch of rocks in a tin can.
 
Yup, as others have already said, the rattling is quite normal. It's usually the black piece of plastic above the pad that rattles. So, I took off the handle and just put my hand on the head of the polisher. I feel like I have more control this way plus no more rattling.
 
Mine rattles, and it's coming from the black "hood" at the business end of the unit. It sits on the PC loosely, and rattles unless I put a hand on it. FWIW, I quit using the side handle some time ago.
