PC 7336 problem

My friend gave me his PC7336, but he lost the wrench that you use to remove the backing plate. Is that a wrench I can pickup at Lowes or HomeDepot? I bought a backing plate and pads from Meguiar's I'd really like to use.
 
Well i'm trying to see who has them locally. Yeah there cheap online, but with shipping charges you could have bought two maybe three wrenches. And I need it by sat.
 
You could always buy a cheap wrench and grind the flat part down so it fits in that thin space.
 
Autogeek sells them. I just bought a replacement a couple months ago. Then I found mine. How ironic is that? Shoot me your address in a PM and I'll send you my extra one. I don't know if I can get it there by Saturday without sending it priority mail, but if you want to float me a couple bucks then I'm sure I could get it to you quickly. Otherwise I'll just drop it in the mail and it will get there when it gets there. :)
 
I created a loop and welded it to the end of my spare so I can hang it on the wall above the counter that I change my backing plate with. I lost the first one durring my move last year. I don't normally lose things and I figure having one on a loop will keep it from getting lost again. I really have no need for the spare, and if I do then I know where to buy another one. I'd rather have it go to someone who needs it more than I do at this point.
 
I went to Lowe's on my way home from work. I browsed the hardware section till the gentleman working in that department was available. I saw the display model of the PC7336 and below it on the table was the package that contained the goodies that accompany the buffer and in that bag was the wrench. So when I Finally got to talking with the gentleman he said pigs would fly before I could find anyone here that would have that particular wrench for sale. I told him I saw one in the bag other there by the display model, I asked if he would use that one to remove the backing plate for me and put the new one on. He took the wrench out of the bag and fitted it to the PC to see if it was the right one. It fit and he said here put this in your pocket and have a nice day. As you can imagine I was happier than a pig in S**t. He was an older guy I thought " old fashion" didn't ever think he would give it to me.
 
Unless you can adjust how thick the wrench is then I don't think it would work. Anything thicker than the wrench that comes with the unit would be too thick. That one alone barely clears the motor and the backing plate. I tried everything when I lost mine. Nothing works but the PC wrench.
