PBW Foam Soap (Beta) Review

Over the weekend I had a chance to use the beta test sample of PB Foam Soap Steve and Dwayne generously provided for testing. Thanks fellas!

For my test I’ll be foaming up my very dirty Honda Civic that’s been sitting under a tree for about a month:

I decided to use a standard amount of soap @ ~1oz of soap per 32oz of warm tap water in my MTM foam cannon. By doing so I should be able to compare how PBW Foam Soap foams up against other foam soaps I`ve used - ie CG Honeydew, McKee’s Power Wash etc..

Time to foam! As soon as soap starts flying I’m immediately hit with a nice grapey smell - as others have commented - I love it. Feedback #1: Do not change the smell - who cares if someone else soap smells like grapes? Not me!!

Action shots of the foam:

Rear bumper:

Drivers side:

Dripping off the rear wheel well:

Dissolving dirt on the front hood:

Nice cling time after sitting for 5mins:

Good tight foam drip silhouette lines

8 oz or so of product still left in bottle:

Conclusion
Poorboys has a winner with this product. As my photos showed this new soap clings just as well if not better than CG Honeydew or McKee’s Power Wash @ the same soap to water ratio in a foam cannon. Plus it rinses cleanly off not leaving anything behind. My overall feedback is - don’t change a thing. Beta testing is done.

nice review.. man I need a pressure washer and foam lance

I used 4 ounces and didn`t get close to that kind of foam out of my gun

that`s why we did a poll to find out what kind of foam guns are out there and try to get enough info to see how it works in each of them ... my foam gun with good water pressure put out a heavy foam when opened fully...

the only thing I suggest changing is sending me some more so I can confirm its awesome! haha

soon enough .. just a couple more things to tweak and then get a label rolling ...

Great review Angus!

Your using a gas power washer?

Im hoping Poorboys gives away a gallon to one of the reviewers in a giveawsy drawing.
One lucky winner.
Heck maybe a 5 gallon jug.

I got no issues with the level of foam I got out of my gun..perhaps I need higher pressure water then

completely agree with the rinsing off no issues..I had a water spotted SRT and foamed it and rinsed and BAM no streaks or spots..didn`t have any dirt on it just water spots

Nice job .. Thanks for the review ... :bigups

Thank you for the opportunity! It`s fun being part of the beta testing process.

Dude. How do you not have a foam cannon? Get on it! I haven`t touched my foam gun since picking up a cannon.

Nice review Ian!

Dang that foam is thick!!! Nice to see it stuck around on the paint for quite some time rather than just sliding off.

Is this a mx type Wash, Wash `N Wax, etc?

Excellent review!

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. :)

Thank you, Mike! I was smiling ear to ear over how nice a foamy my Honda was. Foam cannons + snow foam soap = FUN

A very good question. Since this was a beta test sample w/o any instructions or product info, I can only speculate it is a Wash & Rinse type of product. Stay tuned to find out from PoorBoy himself once the soap is officially released.

Definitely keep this soap on your radar - I know you`ll dig it.

So far it definitely has seen different results based on the gun and what was behind the gun ...

I have heard it`s too thin and too thick, but again i think it is based on other products used previously.

No it is only meant to be a pre-wash and lubrication product .. glad it is holding to the paint well in all scenarios so far.

The Scent , well we will have to see and maybe a second round of Beta samples might be in order and could change some minds ...or not :)

If you want a wash and wax, try Super Slick and Wax in a foam gun or cannon ;)

Glad to know it is a pre wash soap. I like that idea. With all the coatings today it fits right in. On my coated vehicles I do not like to use anything with added glossifiers. I think anything but a soap that clean interferes with the coatings dirt repellant properties.
