Paul Dalton Rotary Video......

I love videos......anyone's.

Anthony, remember I posted your vids and write ups at Autogeek for you.

After getting your permission of course!

I feel this is absolutely silly and makes me :nixweiss

I mean, let's for a second forget he is who he is, let's pretend that is Joe Schmoe The Absolute Nobody, and concentrate just on the video itself.

It shows guy deeply into what he is doing (who knows why, whether he is that way on every single detail he does or just when camera is rolling) using rotary on the car. Does it teach us anything? Does it provide value? Very debatable. Should it be watched just because it is there? Most likely reasonable answer is no because it makes no sense to watch somebody doing something for asbolutely no reason. I know that some people watch clips of washing machine doing laundry but ...

But wait a sec! He is not nobody! He is famous! Now all of the sudden that is now very different, now I should be interested to watch even though value of content is not any different than when Joe Schmoe was doing it?

Forgive me for not seeing a point in it. It could be that I am just star awe immune.

Only two thoughts I had during that video were:

"I wonder which pad and backing plate are those?"

and

"His slow slow quick quick slow in seemingly random directions leaves impression of not using 25 point 3D mental picture of coat thickness on that panel while working on it"

I have not even bothered to watch the video. I will say, that this guy is good at marketing himself. Regardless of what your opinion is about the video, poeple are talking about him. That is very evident by the number of views and replies to this post, and other posts about him. Marketing is all about getting people talking about your business. He is obviously suceeding in that. All this may very well pay off for him, especially if he introduces is own product line.

Well thanks for the encouragement and in fact we are doing this but not for rotary at the moment. We'll do a tutorial on OptiSeal first, then No Rinse and then a How-To for rotary and Cyclo.

Anthony

Ooh, nice :) I've always been looking for a video with ONR. Can't wait! :woot2:

i was wondering the same, what backing plate and pad he was using. the viedo is just a viedo. how many others would on here would be willing to put a clip of themselfs doing the same thing. And what do you think people would say. I think hes a pretty good detailer and others must think so to if they let him work on their cars.

PrinzII, your Avatar rocks! But there's some minor swirling around the badge on the door...

Regarding the Paul video... I'm just a noob, but i've never worked a product that long. Doesn't it seem to be excessively worked to anyone else?

you know what they say,

"any publicity is good publicity"

Were all here talking about him, hes doing a great job!

That depends on what your using

I did a video of me working on my falcon with an LC black and 106FF and then ultra gloss and driven to perfection but it's still sitting on the camera.

Once I have some free time, I'll get them up

Right now I'm busy painting two pack epoxy onto our 850 sq metre shop. 260 litres of paint to do it

I'd love to see videos of other members' work. :) Post them up everyone!

Me too!

I love seeing everyone in action.......not just Paul. I re-posted a lot of Anthony's vids on other sites but the didn't seem to get this much attention!

I try to help out everyone. Once again, with no monetary gain...........ever.

+1

I learn more from watching others videos. I think part of detailing is not only your skills, but the skills of others that you learn, perfected.
